Thanks for this video. Makes it quick an easy. I just did my 3k mile oil change. Last changed at 600. Is it normal to have metal shavings on that first filter? My bike was stolen and I stole it back and had a low oil pressure warning on. So I decided to change the oil. Thanks
@MotoMedicine9044 жыл бұрын
Yes its normal to see what looks like a lot of metal shavings on the 1st oil change because this is the period in which the motor is seating in. After that it should be very minimal.

Shouldn't the bike be level front to rear as well as side to side when you check the oil level? Yours is elevated in the rear causing the oil level in the sight glass to appear lower than it actually is. Otherwise, very good video. Thanks for posting it.

After checking it in both on the stand and off it actually makes maybe only a millimeters of difference in the sight glass.

how do we know the exact pressure of the bolts,is there a chance cracking the engine due to increased pressure?
@MotoMedicine9042 жыл бұрын
You use a torque wrench which indicates when you've reach the right torque for each bolt. The threads on the engine case can strip if you go too tight but it takes quite a bit of over torque to do that.

There's a VERY good reason why you didn't fill it with the full 1.7L.. it's because the oil filter cavity wasn't filled until you ride the bike. You need to put in more oil after the ride since 200ml is now inside the oil filter cavity.

@MotoMedicine9043 жыл бұрын
You can adjust the mileage at any time. Ut only by the built in intervals. The 1 year stays the same no matter what. It will trigger the light at the miles when passed or 1 year whichever comes 1st.

Can’t seem to find any concrete answers even in the manual so here it goes. For the 401 Vitpilen, does anybody know the easiest way to replace the lower oil screen? Asking because the exhaust on the Husqvarnas is routed directly beneath the oil screen. Trying to avoid removing exhaust. Any feedback would be awesome. Thanks
@brxconspiracy4 жыл бұрын
You’re gonna have to loosen the exhaust don’t completely take off the bolts just loosen it till it has play and you should be able to reach the bolt

If you have 0.1 liters left then you really overfilled the manual says you have to put 1.7L in there. When i changed the oil in i also put a little more in there because i could not see it at the glass but when i went for a long ride and checked the oil it was above the glass. So a bit overfill (50ml) should not be a problem but i think 200ml is. Just do what the manual says... Good luck!
@ghostc3566 Жыл бұрын
U are correct when u say so what the manual says but also wrong u shouldn’t check oil while ur bikes warm it’ll expand and show more then u rlly have always check while ur bike is cold much more accurate reading

@MotoMedicine9044 жыл бұрын
What you might be seeing is this little bit of oil that gets stuck up against the glass in the very bottom of it. Even when the bike was empty you would see that little millimeter of a line in it cause it was stuck
@Chris-yy7qc4 жыл бұрын
@@MotoMedicine904 Wrong. Its the same on every other engine. Even engines with dip sticks. When you start the engine for the first time the oil pump fills the empty oil filter case with oil. Thats why the oil level is lower after the first run.
@MotoMedicine9044 жыл бұрын
@@Chris-yy7qc i think we are both thinking of two different things. But I stated in the video that the reason you have to run the bike and check again was because oil has now filled passages that cannot be filled by simply pouring the oil in the motor
@Chris-yy7qc4 жыл бұрын
@@MotoMedicine904 Jep and I told you thats wrong. There is no spaces/cavities which hold a big amount of oil. That woulnt help when changing the oil at all. The only reason the oil level drops us because the filter case is filled with oil again.
@MotoMedicine9044 жыл бұрын
I said any spaces and cavities. Which would include the oil filter case...so how is that wrong..I think you're over analyzing it
