I just bled mine exactly the same as how I do my breaks. Using the hydrilic system itself. Pump 3-5times. Hold, open nipple. Close then repeat, took 5 mins!

Why do you need an aftermarket bleeder screw vs the factory one? Aren't they the same thing??
@jamie66moto43 жыл бұрын
Hi, I've got a 2015 1190 adventure I put dot 4 in and bleed clutch then saw it said mineral but have had no trouble in 8 months.

I hear you should do it backwards, from The slavecylinder. What is tight or wrong?

Is it normal for the clutch lever on the KTM 1090 to have some slack?

Yes

Hello...can you just bleed it like with the lever? just like you do on the brakes? Thanks...

Page 142 of the manual clearly states either Dot 4 or Dot 5.1. older models used mineral oil, not newer than 2014 or so. Check your owner's manual. His video is correct. You can just use the OEM bleeder screw to reverse bleed as he shows by just squeezing the tube over it and slightly loosening it.

@@2WR Could ask why this is the case?

Hi, thanks for your videos. Just a question: do you think I could push the new fluid into the circuit without removing the factory bleeding screw even if the OEM manual says to remove it?
@obrianmcc4 жыл бұрын
I'm curious on this as well ... seems like you could simply plug in your hose/syringe into the factory screw vs removing?

Can you help? I have a problem with my fan my ktm 1290 sas 2018 The fan will not engage and throws up a fault when it needs to turn on but if flick to top fan with finger it will spin for a few seconds then turns off with fault stiil on dash
@2WR5 ай бұрын
It’s likely an electrical issue but I’m not gonna be able to diagnose it online.

@2WR thanks for your message I've found the problem the bottom fan is not free as the top one so I will strip it down and hopefully a good clean will sort it

Hey friend I have a 2017 1090, 3 or 4 months ago I repaired the master pump, but now the fluid is almost gone, I do not see any leak anyware, thinking might be a leak inside the slave cylinder, any though?
@2WR3 жыл бұрын
Tough to say. Could be a very minor leak. Just going to have to look closely to find it.

Hi When you put the new oil the old will come out on the top, no?

It's pushing out the older fluid

I think the brakefluid vs mineral oil battle might be different systems on US models vs EU models, all 10/11/1290 i know of uses mineral oil here in Sweden. Can anyone confirm this specualtions?

Just read the top of the reservoir. Magura has flipped back and forth on both the street bikes and dirt bikes depending on the year and area.

My RC8R manual states to use mineral oil. Sorry but I watched the video and I’m still a little confused how to change the fluid on my RC8R. Where can I purchase that syringe tool from?
@dimosk73893 жыл бұрын
@@Pmason718 you dont need a specific "tool" syringe. just get a syringe from a pharmacy, and get a length of silicone hose. stick the hose on the bleeder of the slave cylinder and you're done.

My manual says hydraulic fluid. I've heard brake fluid will stuff up a Mugera clutch.
@2WR2 жыл бұрын
It will if your clutch was one that’s designed to take Magura Blood (hydraulic fluid) but the clutch on this motorcycle calls for brake fluid. Should be stamped on the top of the master cylinder.

On some systems, yes but not this one. Owners manual, service manual and even the reservoir cover all call for DOT 4 or 5.1 brake fluid.

@@2WR I just confirmed it in the workshop manual and not in the owner's manual. DOT-4 brake fluid recomanned and ISO VG (15) clutch fluid recommended by Motorex Hydraulic Fluid 75 which is mineral. If you google this model you will see the characteristics. The dot 4 can eventually ruin the rubber gaskets. I already replaced the clutch pump kit due to fluid loss and put the red Magura hydraulic clutch kit in a 100ml bottle. Cheers workshop manual KTM 1290 SA
