When i was 14 i started watching oggy f that time he had R15 later the day he bought rage home i just love the bike and i want rc390 to be my first bike.Later when i became 17 the new rc wasn't good as the older one. So I was confused for which one to go for, later i watched his video riding benelli 302R and i got positive review from oggy so i ended buying benelli 302R. I could relate so much to you. Being an owner of RC390 for 5years, i decided to hop onto 390 Adventure now only for the comfort and cross country rides in plan. You very rightly said upgrade only when you know you have used the full potential. I think 390 is more than enough for Indian road conditions so mine is a lateral upgrade rather than an upgrade high. Low on maintenance and high on mileage too till my requirements gets higher. Anyways keep sharing such videos, feel good to watch sensible videos rather than many clowns.😊

Good Video Oggy, I have been using my RC390 since it first came out in 2014.. and although I have kept it entirely stock..my experience on it with 40k+ kms on it has been great... completely agree the bike does require watchful eyes and regular maintenance (which I feel is the norm for any bike) ... it's still runs fab for me and does check all my boxes of everyday usage and the occasional long rides.. in fact my longest ride was from Chennai to Delhi in Dec 2018 and the bike exceeded my expectations.(#touchwood). Maybe a very slight percentage TBH. KTM have done a great job with the features and the prices they've offered the motorcyles at.

Totally agreed. Upgrading to bigger bike don’t make you a better rider. I’m also totally happy with my 2016 Duke390. And i’m using Apollos for road and engine ice for temp. Never thought of upgrading the grips unless they look good 😌 as I always ride with gloves so very less vibrations felt of hands.

Awesome to hear. I always ride with gloves too unless my gloves are soaked in the rain while riding and I start to lose grip. The grips were bought more to dial out the vibrations than anything else.

Very professional review. Why was the engine rebuilt? I'm buying one tomorrow which has 16,000km 3 owners (seems like a lot) and hasn't had an oil change for 10,000km so I'm worried about how much damage these things can take. An old Yamaha can go years without an oil change and no damage. Do you think am Rc390 can handle 10,000km?

Honestly it depends on how the previous 3 owners maintained it. Unfortunately most people buy these, rip the hell out of them and then sell when issues start to surface (atleast in India) . I'd recommend you look for any signs of oil leaks, overheating ( low coolant / coolant mixing with engine oil) and inspect the fork seals too (usually a sign that the bike has spent time on one wheel) . My engine was rebuilt because there were issues with the valves that cause some other issues. Haven't had a problem since (now at 68k kms)

Thanks for all the information Oggyf. I own a bs4 rc390 and I adore it. I also have a yamaha fz as a daily in city commuting bike. With reference to the last part of the clip regarding why you kept the bike for so many years and didn't upgrade makes sense. If I am entirely happy with my bike based on the expectations I bought it I think I can live with the bike for its own lifetime.

Oggy, from everything I know about you, I think the street triple r is the best bike upgrade for you. It’s great value for money at its current price, very usable for your use cases, and it’s build quality and refinement is stellar! Pillion comfort isint great but definitely on par or better than the rc. You would love the bike and probably keep it for a decade! Time to use that you tube money! 😉 Also something to consider, is that internal combustion engines days are numbered! So before they start to disappear we petrolheads need to make the most of them! Cheers! Ps: do go ride the street triple if you haven’t already.
