Hey all, Melbourne PQ winner here! Thanks for covering the PQ, I'm honoured to be in one if your videos, just wanted to speak to a couple of the things that came up when y'all were looking at my list. Tarkintown over 30hp for me is both defensive when playing into aggro, and utility when playing into midrange/control. Against aggro decks like Sabine, being able to ping and TT their T1 play, then play something yourself, is huge tempo. If they play a Sabine or Battlefield Marine T1, if I just left it and it swings 2 or more times, that's already more damage than the 5 I lost from TT. And when playing into decks with space sentinels that have more than 3 health, it helps break through them easier. Concord is an ISB/Daring Raid + TT away from dying, and Bright Hope is a 3/2 + TT. If I go against a Bright Hope and have to sacrifice two units into it, that's a big loss in tempo and sets me back. And yeah there are other ways of dealing with it like 3/2 + Surprise Strike, Waylay and TDR + Ruthless Raider, but TT makes it more consistent to get through, even with a bad hand, and doesn't take up half my turn punching through. I did have 2x Bazine in my mainboard for a few weeks of testing, I just found that it was either too slow or cost too much. Playing Bazine early in the game doesn't get you enough tempo, most the time I'd rather just play a 3/2 ship. Even if my 3/2 ship gets in one attack and then gets removed, the Bazine would have to swing 3 times to make up for that which takes too long. I also did like having it in my resources for when I had a dead hand later on, but I found that if she was hit by Scanning Officer and I didn't get a T1 play my chances of winning plummeted, and even on T4-6 when I had the resources to play her she cost way too much. I normally stop resourcing at 6-7 depending on my hand, and her costing 4 - even if she does get rid of a Cunning or something - means I'm not usually advancing my game in a meaningful way that turn. I just didn't find the value and most the time would have just rather have another 3/2 ship. Thanks for looking at my list though! Such a crazy feeling to have popular KZbinrs talking about me haha. I did published my list on swudb with an event writeup that covers my pairings and how I sideboarded: swudb.com/deck/view/sNCLSoHmtpC

2nd place Indy PQ Rey Red player here. I think Rey Red has a pretty solid matchup into boba and it started showing towards the end of the PQ season. 34 Boba decks at Indy and them getting kept from top 4 was pretty good evidence with 3 Rey Red making top 4.

I was the Boba Yellow player in top 8 at PQ Indy! Those Rey Red decks were certainly my most challenging matches.

Sportsmanship. I went to a local weekly play with my kids (we love this game!). It happened to coincide with a Magic weekly play at the store. The game play area was a very large shared space. There were shouting matches and swearing amongst the MTG players. An employee yelled at a player for their language. then loudly quit on the spot. That was enough to never want to play MTG for me.

@@SWU_KTODyeah I appreciated your perspective and see how that was probably a one off. But that was one of our first exposures to that particular store. Thankfully it isn’t our regular weekly play store but it was enough to consider avoiding it in the future.

Love the guest appearance at the end. You all are doing a great job answering questions and providing realism. I love the humble realism acknowledging that not everything is about winning and it’s not what you can control. It’s the “yes and” mentality that moves forward. Channeling the Ted Lasso

For the slump discussion, challenge the assertion that continuing to play this game is correct for you. It’s okay to not enjoy a hobby and decide to spend your time doing something else. The challenge is the friends we make in the hobby, makes it more challenging to move on to another hobby at times.

I've been so high on R2 into NTATOT with Ani or Plo - its done very well for me in testing.

The Quinlan character is awesome. Don’t be bummed it’s not a more known character. He deserves it. Complete badass. Even outside of Ventress.

Speaking to the card game slump, not everybody is cut out to grind. So if a slump hits, evaluate your goals, maybe take a breather or play the game in a diff way like twin suns or draft or play leaders you don't normally. Worst case you take a break from the game and come back in after a period of time. God willing it isn't going anywhere

4 of us carpooled to Indy from central Ohio, finishing 4th 5th 13th and 38th out of 98 players . Sean Powell {5th) TOP 4 with Rey [red]. Ohio is a TOUGH SWU place!
