I was blessed to have spent a short time at Idaho State U, when we won the national championship in 1981, and Dirk was our Quarterback, and he was good then too! Watching him grow and learn at every level in both college and the NFL, has been a complete mind blower! His influence has been vast, and without Dirk, BSU would not be here today! Thank you Dirk, for coming back and making this program one of the most talked about and special in NCAA today! Bless you my friend!

6:04 Brilliant. Dirk is right, those black and blue games at the dome were intense fun. Pocatello vs Highland at the Minidome when there were the only two high schools in Pocatello WAS an awesome experience. Poky fans stomping all over the Ram's fight song was the best. "When you say ram power, YOU AINT SAID #@*%!" The Koetter family was huge for football in the City of Pocatello. Dirk's father Jim (with brother Brent as OC) winning three state titles at Poky in 89, 90 & 92. Then Brent as HC won in 94 at Poky then 95, 97, 98, 2000 at Highland. Of course Dirk himself coached Highland in the mid 80s to a title in 84. Between 1984 and 2000, Jim and Brent won a combined 9 state titles at Pocatello or Highland. Between 1987 and 2000 either Poky or Highland won all but 4 of the state titles. It was a fun era of high school football and that Minidome was electric. Grateful to have Dirk at BSU. Huge asset.
