Car owner thought their car was amphibious, but they f*cked up and drowned there car engine.

I wonder how 'self-driving' vehicles will fare in such weather and road conditions?

There is a actually water depth signage on the side of the road, and these are probably at all the bad spots on these roads, so if you stop and pay attention, you can have a pretty good idea if your vehicle can make it through. Clearly a 1.5 foot puddle is too deep for low-slung modern sedans. A lifted 4X with big tires would probably make it. Maybe. Know your vehicle and look for signs.

Why would the driver ignore the signage? Language problem, didn't see, thought he knew better, or something else? Or maybe no sign up at entry location or no way to turn around?
