Theory wise: Eunha used the last butterfly to return to the moment after they got their powers from the siren/apple/lake but before they were seperated by the poison /temptation/envy. At this new Crossroads she gives into it like the others - her eating the apple and flower. However Gfriend are powerful beings {born on a magical island in the bh universe} and instead of being corrupted, they end up actually consuming and becoming the darkness itself - becoming siren witches - so powerful that they can actually destroy the thing that tried to destroy them. They become the sirens. Their glass beads instead of turning black turn red. I think the kiss also represents them coming together in this timeline as a contrast to the fighting and loneliness in the other mvs

GFriend gay moments in MV has been around since 2016 but yeah I agree nowadays it's almost a trend.

They almost kissed three times, actually. 8:02 The first time was Sowon and Yerin. 8:04 The second time was Yuju and Umji. 8:09 And the third time was SinB and Eunha, but there was an apple inbetween them, so they just ended up kissing the apple. I think it is a metaphor for temptation, like you said, but I find the last scene I mentioned makes more sense because it is like no matter what you want, desire will always lead you back to where you started, hence the apple and why they were not able to kiss. I feel like you do, that it is almost odd to have no apparent reason for female skinship. I used to enjoy 'gay'-ish moments in music videos because it was something that was so rare that it perhaps seemed special, and more real, since being actually lesbian in Korean is so disapproved. Now, though, it has become a 'trend', so it is not as special anymore and it even seems to be overused to the point where there is no actual attachment, if you get what I am saying.

So, this is my own theory based on what we've saw in the MV, their previous tales, and some other references about Sirens. Because I haven't found any videos explaining the theory so I'm just trying to piece things together. It's a bit long, if you guys interested. So, in Butterfly Effect they were initially trapped in forest, wearing outfits from different eras, implying that they're trapped in a labyrinth of dream (or a dream loop). Then, they heard a song (which was obviously coming from Sirens) which led them to find the apple tree. The term "Sirens Song" in mythology, refers to an appeal that is hard to resist and if they followed it, will lead to a bad conclusion. Unfortunately, they each took a bite of the apple, passed out, and woke up in an alternate (or parallel) reality where they finally able to be together again (the scene where they're still in white outfits). However, unbeknownst to them, their "togetherness" was just an illusion created by the Sirens that made them thought they're out of the labyrinth of dream, when they actually aren't. They're actually in a trance where the Sirens slowly took over their mind (as we could see they started to look possessed, full of temptation, eating flowers, and turns evil at the end). This is also explains why the glass bead (which supposed to represents their identity) is turning red, because they're contaminated by the Sirens. Now, about SinB and the burning tree, I haven't look deeper but here's a thought. Eunha & SinB had the same name (Eunbi), and in Fingertip, we saw SinB's coming out of Eunha (so there might be a sort of duality happening here), and she tries to kill her in that MV. We've also saw in Fingertip as well that SinB's power might be related to flowers, as she was seen holding a glass bead with a rose inside, and we've saw in this MV there are LOTS of flowers. We also saw them fighting in Crossroads. So, there might be a possibility that SinB is the Sirens that lured them all into this parallel reality. We saw her dancing in front of the burning apple tree that was located in the forest, which I thought maybe connected with the apple tree in the middle of the maze. So there are actually two apple trees, and they are the gateway. With the one being burned down, the girls are now trapped and possessed. Now, someone needs to come and save them hence the album is called Song of The Sirens (S.O.S). Wow, that was long. I actually got chills when I was writing it. I could be way off and there could probably be a whole another story to this. But, so far, that's my take on the MV. Really enjoyed your reaction by the way! I really loved your surprised face, especially when Sydney goes HOLY SHIT on the black outfits scene, that was enjoyable. Thank you so much!

I was SHOOK and still am tbh This is probably my favourite MV from them now, it was so visually pleasing and the looks? Wow. A great surprise for us all was definitely the darker side of the MV, they had only really hinted at the lighter side! Some things I saw- SinB is perhaps a type of guardian for this Apple tree as she’s seen in both the lighter and darker side with the tree. Plus the only member individually with the tree in the white outfit and a different outfit than anything else I believe that witches may be an important part of this MV. It mentions a witches night in the lyrics. Plus I feel the darker version is probably the witches, the horns on their heads kinda shook me. Kinda gave me maleficent vibes. Then the Ivory surrounding them at the end, kind of like either blocking anything from getting inside or keeping the girls trapped? Also I kind of noticed that the scenes where the duos are super close is the same duos who were fighting in Crossroads Sowon and Yerin (weren’t really fighting) Yuju and Umji- they were fighting SinB and Yuju- they were fighting Imma have to wait for the smart buddies to link this into the storyline as that is not my specialty aha The album slaps though! I was kinda shook because i loved every single song first listen. And I can’t even rank them?😭 Oh and Sowon mentioned at the press conference about the change. Basically, the members discussed with the agency about a change. They all agreed that it was time for a change, I’m sure the girls really enjoyed filming this and we’ll get to see new sides to them :)

I could be wrong, but it appears that three members (Eunha, Yerin and Yuju) were gradually being lured in by Sin B, Sowon and Umji from the beginning to the middle of the video. Those three members finally giving in and kissing the others (and the apple) that had been tempting them seems to be the turning point where they finally give in to their desires and join the others in the coven (shown by the switch to black clothes, etc). I don't like when lesbian kisses are added just for the sake of fan service but the kisses did seem to have actual symbolism here, at least.
