When Robert says, "I'm sorry." when Slavi dies on the floor, he's apologizing to his deceased wife for going back on his word to her that he wouldn't go back to being the lethal operator that he was. Great reaction! Oh, and if you plan on watching the other two Equalizer movies, they are excellent as well.

Love that the books in the movie are an important part in the film. 1) Old Man & The Sea; Robert says that we are who we have to be. 2) Don Quixote; Robert explains to Teri/Alina that it's about a man who's a knight in shining armor. Exepct he's in a land where knights no longer exist. 3) The Invisible Man; At the end of the film him answering the personal ad continuing his vigilante activities.

One of the best things about this movie is the fact that Denzel’s acting hits just as hard as the punches he throws. Robert gets into the heads of his victims during the conversation, and the resulting violence is just a formality.

This is based on a US TV show from the 80's of the same name. In the movies, Robert helps others to atone for the things he did at the "Agency." What sets Robert apart from others like Teddy is when is in "killng/revenge" mode, he is methodical and emotionless and does what he does because he can. On the other hand, Teddy is very emotional and does what he does because he loves it.

Yes, 'The Equalizer' was originally an American TV series that was on the CBS network staring British actor Edward Woodward as Robert McCall. It ran from September 18, 1985 - August 24, 1989. It was a total of 88 episodes. Enjoyable reaction by both of you of the first film with Denzel Washington. This one and the third one are my favorites of the three films. The second one is alright, but my least favorite. Though, it is well worth the watch.

The henchman with the mustache that you pointed out has similar bit parts in a few other action movies worth checking out: "The Accountant," "John Wick," and "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle." Well, that is certainly one way to get equal, ha! But what an awesome reaction, Sloths! I know Ryan is probably conditioned now by all those _Alien_ reactions, hehe, but Naomi, you looked really "shooketh" by certain scenes! Do you two agree on the most creative kill then? I must admit, I ended liking it a little more than (the first) _John Wick_ , if only for a tad more wholesome story and such great performances - Denzel was super as usual but Marton Csokas was terrifyingly effective as a bad guy. Also, have to admit I am not that much familiar with Washington's filmography overall, but out of the films I have seen, I would recommend _Fallen_ , _The Pelican Brief_ and definitely _The Preacher's Wife_ .

I don't know how others interpret this part. But, just before he kills all the men at Slavi's bar. His opening and closing the door was his internal conflict before he committed to breaking his promise and helping Aliena. I always thought that was a powerful piece of character development. So small and huge at the same time. I would love to hear others' opinions.
