You cant stop the co2 in DIY. This is the reason professionals not recommending this

If u tank is big u can connect the diy CO2 to small internal filter and connect it to a timer so the bubbles will be dispersed by the internal filter when it's on and when it's off the bubble won't burst in water they would just go to surface it's the best way to control diy co2
