If you guys like street food, then try the food from the open markets around Malaysia. Langkawi also has pasar malam, night open markets. Penang and Melaka are also quite nice for tourists.

Another distinct difference between Malaysia and some other South East Asian countries like Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia is that Malaysia has (generally) more English speaking locals than those countries. The spike of the Merdeka 118 is resembles the silhouette of Tunku Abdul Rahman, our 1st Prime Minister when he raised his right hand and chanted the word “Merdeka!” 7 times on 31 August 1957. Hence, the long pole on the peak of the tower mimics Tunku Abdul Rahman’s outstretched hand.

Dont forget to join the celebration of Malaysia Day this year. The event is called "Keretapi Sarong" but it will be held on 14 Sept 2024. (Malaysia Day is actually celebrated on 16th Sept every year but this year the date clash with the Birth of the Prophet Muhammad SAW so they celebrate it earlier due to show some respect i guess) . I am really sure you will enjoy the vibe of Keretapi Sarong because it is a super fun events full of cultures, diversities and colours. Hi Abby and Gaz, I like your travel videos on Malaysia. Glad you love visiting KL. You both orbited around chinatown and ate chinese food on your first day. But you did try Malay and Indian cuisines too . And by the way, fyi Joanna Lumley used to live in KL when she was a child. From 1951 to 1954 I think. Her father who was in the British Army was stationed in KL. The location of her house then is what is now the TRX building near the old military air strip. Anyway, have fun travelling and do come and visit Malaysia again and perhaps visit the eastcoast States of Kelantan and Terengganu.

Visit s colourful "Saloma Bridge" for photoshoot in the evenings near Petronas tower than take a walk for around 20 minutes walk to the last Malay village in the city in "Kampung Baru " for street foods at "Nasi Lemak Wanjo" and another authentic foods like "Nasi Kerabu " at another local restaurant.

While in kl have your lunch in the river at kemensah bbq after visiting zoo negara, there are also lemang and rendang stalls nearby. Negeei Sembilan food at rasa omak den restauran at taman melawati nearby is also good for lunch but be warn its super spicy...n if you went to tmn melawati early iin the morning 7/8 am on saturdays there is a farmer market,selling traditional snack such as peneram,tempeyek etc...at food court nearby mee rebus hj ismail and their rojak

Welcome to the country. Just a heads up, more than a few visitors have complained about 'peculiar' behavior by locals. They are in-fact immigrant workers from south Asia and not actual Malaysians. Do give local deserts a try. ABC, chendul, Lye Chee Kang, onde onde, etc. Haven't seen many content creators make those. Would subscribe to watch Gaz do the course over at Escape Petaling Jaya.

Hi Guys, welcome to Malaysia! Just FYI the drink you had for your first breakfast is actually COFFEE, MILK TEA (or tea with milk) and CHAM which literally means coffee mixed with tea. Note, most coffee, tea or milo is made with condensed milk by default in local coffeeshops or mamak stalls. You can also order a drink and tell them KOSONG (plain). Cham means mix thats tea and coffee mix and coffee here are Malaysian coffee not Indonesia coffee. If its Indonesia coffee it will be labelled as such. Cham ping = ice mix tea coffee, kopi ping = ice coffee, kopi o ping = black coffee with ice, teh ice = ice tea with milk, teh o ice = ice tea without milk. If you add the word “kosong” it will mean no sugar kopi o kosong , or if you want less sugar just add the word “kurang manis” kurang = less or reduce manis =sweet. ✌️

For breakfast/lunch/dinner 24hour u should go to mamak restaurant (Indian cuisine), try nasi lemak for breakfast (Malay cuisine)
