Kuana is without a doubt connected to the universe. His music, lyrics, choreographies that he, himself also creates are beyond the physical realm. I admire him so much. I learnt this choreography from his workshop. I owe 😅. Dancing his songs transports me to an ethereal realm and there’s no words to describe it. David Acevedo In short: He changed the context of the song by turning it into a religious hymn for Christmas about the birth of Christ. He felt that the people of Hawaii would relate more to the song that way.

Aloha mai e Joy and Mahalo for your reply... yes I am familiar with most of the words and can tell that it has been changed for Christmas if you can please send me the lyrics of the entire song in Hawaiian that would be great. There are a few words I don't recognize. I have a hula halau in Chicago and we would love to choreograph a dance to it for our Christmas show. Any kokua would be great. Mahalo nui loa.

It's not a translated version. Kuana was on Kapa radio a couple days ago and said he wrote different lyrics to fit Hawaii

marszenka Caveat, i do not speak Hawaiian, but I know enough random words from my hula classes to know that the translation I just posted is for sure following what his version of the song is about. Words to watch for: mililani - praises Iehowa - Jehovah nani - beautiful, beauty lani - heaven/sky Betelehema - Bethlehem And of course it's hard to miss the English words thrown in there - Virgin Mary, and "come and see". :)
