oskrrr92 Not true if you really look at it Genghis Khan he didn’t rely on weapons to shoot people or gas to choke millions to death he relied on conquest and a literal birthright with the purpose to conquer with sword and shield bow and arrows and sometimes catapult to get it done and obviously a large army the mans empire was done by horse back, not planes or cars, machine guns, tanks, etc. I believe Genghis Khan got more on Hitler then Hitler has on Khan in those times that’s when real man had skill swordsman ship and military tactics that were unseen back in those days. Put some respect on his name. It is far too easier to conduct an onslaught while being in power like Kublai Khan but being a person with no power, bogged down under the atrocities and still raising voice and ultimately turning this voice into a fierce and decisive revolution is far too deadly - that's what Sir William did. So, Sir William Wallace laid his life for the liberation and freedom of common people and was more a hero than Kublai Khan. Besides, in this series, they portrayed Kublai as less ruthless but he was way more than that in real.

I liked it, but I did not like the direction they were going at the end of S2. They went completely ahistorical with a random Crusade across Eurasia, like how the hell did a whole Latin Crusading army march across the Middle East and Central Asia into Mongolia without getting detected until they were right outside Karakorum? It was ridiculous. Then a random Persian adviser tries to take over the country? I mean historically stuff like that almost happened, but I fail to see how a Persian guy with no army could realistically do that. Moreover they almost completely cut out Hulagu and Batu in the West. Hulagu is only mentioned in passing as the guy who destroyed the Hashashin headquarters, but in real life Khublai's ascension sparked an empire wide Civil War, as Hulagu's armies were going into the Holy Land, the Mongols in Eastern Europe under Batu who converted to Islam and were offended by Hulagu's destruction of Baghdad, attacked Hulagu's domain. To make matters more poetic, the ruler of Egypt that they were fighting had been driven from his home at a young age by the Mongols and sold into slavery, and he had ascended to takeover Egypt, and now he was fighting the same enemy in his new home. So much cool content to use and they just ignore it in favor of some weird alt history with Prester John being a real person able to move through Eurasia without a trace. If the show wasn't called Marco Polo it would've been way better.
