Wow Ben, I wonder what the cost would have been if you had to have a Kubota dealer fix your M6060, I have said it before but I will say it again, the school that you teach at is very fortunate to have you, I am satisfied that your students are getting real world training from a teacher that cares. My daughter is a STEM teacher where we live in Georgia, I have a deep appreciation for teachers, I pray that God continues to bless you and you students. Thank you for sharing your videos

Thank you for the kind comment! I’m sure shop labor would be high on this repair. Take care!

I contacted my local dealer and just for the outer seal, was going to be around $600 I’m going to fix it myself. Good ol plastic hay wrap.

Good job at replacing those bearings. Those types can be a bear to replace, using the wooden block and hammers is what I would have done, as long as it gets the job done, that's all that matters. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Have a great week!

One of my other KZbin channel buddies I follow just had this happen with his Kioti DK series as well. Sawing with Sandy just had to replace bearings, ring gears, and the outer housing cracked when pieces lodged between the ring gear and the housing too. then seals, and fluids. I really enjoy your videos

Years ago, I said that you had some serious savvy for one so young. Your abilities have proven the truth of that statement again and again. Please give my best to Benny. Tell him I had my second heart procedure on the 16th. I’ve got one more September 20th - I pray that’s the last one. My best to you both.

Mark I hope your procedure goes well and it’s beneficial. We will keep you in our prayers! Did you by chance sell your 7060? I saw one with what looked like your canopy for sell on tractor house with 144 hours. Thanks for watching
@Mark-Marine Жыл бұрын
@@khtractors I did sell it. Not certain there was that many hours on it though lol. Also they moved the procedure up to the 6th. I can hold on that long - if I come into the house before 08:00. This 115+ “feels like” in the shade is brutal! Take care.

Great Video Ben. This is a real common repair on Loader Tractors at some point in their life..I done my New Holland T1510 last year, one side at least, got to noticing an oil leak on the outer seal and that was tell tell sign of a bad bearing..was able to order the parts and did it in about 2 hours in the driveway....It will be good to go know for another 2000 hrs..great Job.

Ben, we’ve had trouble with a few Massey tractors wiping out bearings, and even a couple of differentials. Regardless of what the manual says, we’ve been refilling them with 85W140 SYNTHETIC GEAR OIL. Since we started doing this, we’ve never had a repeat failure.

Very good job I have heard just like you said that if you do a lot of loader work set your tires in until you get through due to the strain on the bearings thanks for sharing

17:30 this is where those shims thickness matters. If you install a thinner shim it will make those 2 gears mesh to close together causing big issues. Same with going to thick as well except that separates the gear mesh to far.

Is there a reason you’re running the front at the widest point?? I’m still learning and with how the front articulates it really doesn’t seem like it would add much stability until it’s fully articulated 1 way or the other. So I’m just trying to understand where it would help you?? Definitely looks cool. lol I have an old Kubota l2850 in real good shape and have to mow some very steep stuff and want to at least bring my rears out wider.

It’s crazy to think your tractor has 2000 hours on it and I had thought mine was high at 1700 and it’s a 1988 model L2850. Makes me wonder what high hours are??? Because seeing your tractor at 2000 hours and still looking fairly new I’d almost bet you could get well over 10,000 hours out of it. Now I doubt mine would go that far being a smaller diesel?? I just really don’t know. I’ve seen other l2850 with double the hours still running perfectly. What’s the highest hours you have seen??

When in the hell are these manufacturers gonna put tapered bearings in these or some straight cage rollers. These axles just piss me off. Ball bearings are the dumbest idea for load bearing axles such as these compact tractors. I’ve done 5 of these jobs so far most Kubota, an LS, an toro 455 rear axle. Some so bad the inboard bearing boss needs to be machined. Make sure you put the seal in the right direction. Those bearings don’t look bad compared to the ones I’ve replaced. Usually I’m pulling the ball bearings out in 2-3pieces and that’s what takes the seal out. Changed out drain plugs to magnetics. Change oil way more often than mfgs recommended intervals. Way to many gears in there shearing/shavings getting into bearing races.
@khtractors Жыл бұрын
I caught these early enough to not have more damage. Soon as I started hearing sounds I said it’s time to fix it. The old bearings were rough when you spun them but not broken yet. Thanks for watching

The oem"s use this style diff on multiple tractors, Japanese, south korean they all use a similar diff ( cost and they work ,unfortunately light duty )previous post referenced using a heavier oil witch in our experience helps, plus a vent helps as well . They heat and build pressure and weap . Keeps us mechanics in business
