We took the thumb off our excavator it seldom gets used and if your an experienced operator you'll do fine without it. I have seen some manufacturers now mounting the thumbs on a dedicated bucket with the hydraulic cylinders and everything so when you take that bucket off the thumb goes with it and is therefore out of the way.
@workplaytv3 жыл бұрын
I use the thumb 100 times a day. Never taking it off

With that single rear wheel you need some squat on the truck unless you're ok with 80 kmph. I've seen too many spin around on the highway with that rear trailer axle loaded up. Didn't take you long to figure that out, smart man.

I always load my kx040 backwards on my 20ft tilt. Especially when I have my brush head on it. when doing that I tend to see around 1300-1500lbs of hitch weight. That FAE get the job done! I went with a flail mower (brush hound 30ex). next buy is a mulching head looking at the FAE or the brush bound fx26. might go with that FAE after watching this.
@workplaytv4 жыл бұрын
Chris Madden Yeah man that head makes a big difference in rear weight. I didn’t go with the flail mower cause when you get in to thick stuff the hammers get bound up. I’ll have better videos soon
@chrismadden31704 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean with the flail. Definitely have to listen to the head and make sure your not over feeding it. And if you do just back off and let it clear itself out and bring the rpms back up. I went with the flail since most of the land I clear has alot of blackberries and small diameter brush that the mulcher heads tend to not do well with. But now that I'm getting into some thicker stuff more often. The mulcher head is on the list for next buy!

"metric ton" equals 2205#. "Long ton" equals 2240#. Multiple either by 4 and the result is seriously close to the KX-040 weight.
