I came across your videos a couple months ago when I was trying to decide what I wanted to upgrade my tractor and I would say that your information helped me focus on the L60 series. Finally a week ago I brought home a used L3560 ROPS that was due for the 50 hour service. I remembered the vacuum trick from this video but thought that I would be quick enough that I wouldn't lose much fluid; wow, was I wrong! I just loosened the filter and it starting pouring out, plus my nitrile gloves were super slippery, so I was starting to see the value of the vacuum procedure. I was able to zip tie the shop vac hose in position so that I didn't need an assistant and it worked perfectly, very little fluid spilled out. I am eager now to start using and enjoying the tractor. Thank you for sharing your information, it is much appreciated!

I’ve got just 18hrs on my L3560LE but am really happy with its capability. I have dualees on the rear and reversed the front wheels to manage the very steep ground I work, and it is very impressive in handling the angles. I will be following your video on installing hydraulics, and in short order pulling this one out again for the 50. Thank you for taking the time and doing such a thorough presentation.

Unfortunately, I sometimes don’t know I missed a shot until I’m reviewing the footage while editing. Cameras fall, batteries dies, my body blocks a view, poor lighting, etc. All kinds of things go wrong. One thing that is for sure though, I am methodical. That’s what I’m known for. I overanalyze everything and am very picky. That’s one reason I do my own work. I’ll redo something several times until I’m happy with it. I did my 50 hr service and subsequent PMs through 400 hr on my 3560 before I saw your video. I talked to the shop guys before I did the 50 hr which you point out requires filter changes but not a complete oil change. My first question to them was, 'How do you pull the filters from near the bottom of the machine and not get an oil bath?" The service guy told me to have the filters all prepped and that I would lose a little oil, but not much. I did the filter change without your vacuum trick and I don't think I had more than a quart of oil in my drain pan and most of that was likely in the filters I removed. I haven't looked at the hydraulic schematic but maybe there's a check valve? The only thing I would add is to check the oil rings on the filters before you install them to insure they are in the groove and a little oil tends to stick them there. The hydraulic oil fill isn't the easiest to get to. I use a long neck funnel that has a small handle built into it. The metal hook that holds the top link fits nicely into that funnel handle and keeps spillage to a minimum because as you point out that Kubota UDT is $25/gallon. Lifting those 5 gallon buckets of oil is a bit of a challenge and I keep thinking I need to get a pump. Any recommendations? Good job on the video. Even though I was a wrench turner in my early years, I learn new and very helpful stuff from you. Many thanks.
@JaredsShop
@JaredsShop 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback! For the oil lost, it usually the hydraulic filter that can dump quite a bit whereas the hydrostat usually doesn’t. It may take just a bit so if you’re quick you may not lose much. I wasn’t real sure on this tractor so I thought I’d do the vacuum trick and show it since there are so many questions on it. I often buy my Super UDT2 in 2.5 gallon jugs. For ease of pouring I will transfer them to a gallon jug. If I purchased it in 5 gallon pails I’d do the same. Last time I purchased it the price was about the same price for the 2.5 gallon jugs. I’m not sure if that always holds true.

Thank you so much. It takes a lot of time to make them so it’s nice to know someone appreciates them. Before you remove the loader and chase the hose, have you checked and made sure everything is working under the roof? There’s a valve up there that turns off the hot coolant from the engine so the A/C works better in the summer. I’ve hear reports of the knob getting disconnected from the valve.

Everyone has an opinion however I change engine oil and engine oil filter every 200 hours (250, 450, etc) after the initial 50 hour service. Small price to pay for peace of mind and that is pushing it out to every other year due to the fact I only put about 100 hours a year on the tractor. Also had to use a hammer and punch to break the high pressure hydro filter loose on the initial 50 hour change. The filter has spots on the base (open end where it screws on) for that reason or so I would think. My 50 hour change was a total mess as I knew I needed to be quick but there wasn't a quick way to remove the old filter and put on the new one as I wasn't aware of the shop vac method.

Not in the petroleum industry, just have products made to their specs, as do many others in multiple industries. While you don’t necessarily have to get OEM products but you’re running a risk with anything else as it may not meet specs and could cause issues. While I don’t stay up to date anymore, I used to be into tribology and had analyzed many failures due to incorrect fluids or filters. It’s a thing, whether you want to admit it or not.

@@JaredsShop You are not going to have a failure from standard diesel 10w30 vs Kubota 10w30 let's be realistic about this shall we? Yes you use the wrong type of fluid or filter I'll give you that but a reputable brand with correct specs is not going to cause you any issues. And if you really think Kubota is building their engines to take a specific "brand" of oil then you are really stretching there. If you want to use Kubota branded oil that's fine and easy just expensive but don't sit here and try to scare people into doing the same it's not necessary.
