Your advice is valid. The M5660, especially the SUHD 4 wheel drive model... is an incredible tractor value. The 8fx8r manual will pull the snot out of a bull's nose at a 50ft. distance just driving by.. LOL!

Cool video. My property isn’t big enough for even a full L series, let alone an M… but my experience with my new LX2610 in 2020 matches yours. Always had an ancient Ford that needed constant work. The Kubota is a solid machine that just runs. Cheers.

Wow! You have really kept your tractor looking nice! Thanks for the overview! Glad to hear you have been happy with this machine. We have the same tractor in a 2018 model year and with all the brush work we do it shows. Hard not to scuff the ding the orange paint in the woods using the grapple. We absolutely love this tractor! More than capable of doing all we want to do. The loader is just amazing. Although slightly over loaded, we regularly unload 2500# pallets of salt and fertilizer with it. Of course the rear tires are loaded, we have two sets of wheel weights and have an 800# counterbalance on the 3 point when we are moving that much weight. I am with you and highly recommend this particular model for anyone with considering a Kubota tractor with more than 10 acres to maintain. I do have a question that I am hoping you might know the answer to... There on the left side of the console right next to the shuttle shifter there is a metal rod with a loop at the end. I can not figure out what this is. I read the manual and didn't see a reference to it. I first thought that is was a steering wheel adjustment handle but something just doesn't look right. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. The metal rod, I was told, was kind of a guard designed to keep the operator from inadvertently hitting the shuttle shifter at higher speeds, which could create excessive wear on the clutch pack. Don’t know if that’s correct, just what I was told by my dealer. Thanks again did your reply.

Thanks for the review, I'm considering this tractor and only have seven acres, more than half is forest I'm looking to clear also putting in some food plots and snow clearing. Didn't want the HST trans that come with most thier tractor's, shuttle shifter seems like how a forklift operates which I'm famliar with and would be great to do loader work. I guess my question would be is my thinking correct? Thanks

It’s a bar designed to keep your body from accidentally hitting the forward/reverse lever.

What is the price on this 2016 m5660su new? I see a 2016 m5660su, 4wd, 650hrs on it, and the seller wants $20k for it. It comes with a front bucket and round back brush cutter. Seller says no mechanical problems with tractor. It seems very solid. I am new to tractor and not sure if $20k a good price. Any advise?
