Sonakshi always told her father exactly when he was wrong, taking up her stand when she needed to, telling her dad that if she meant a decision she meant it. On the other hand, Dev... Well he never defended Sonakshi's family despite the countless insults they faced, nor dared to make her his own all because he didn't want to hurt his mother's feelings, even when they wouldn't have been hurt in the first place if he properly talked to her and Sonakshi, telling them he loved them equally, nothing more or less. In fact, when they were being separated he insulted them even more, calling her brother "useless." So yeah, Sonakshi calling him that is never going to be wrong. Here, Dev even refused to treat his mother-in-law with the respect as a mother that she deserves despite all the countless support and care the latter gave to the former all because he blindly listened to Ishwari, who countlessly mistreated Sona and manipulated her previously even to this episode in many instances.
