KUCH TO DUNIYA KI INAYAAT NE DIL TODD DIYA. Jagjit Singh live from the 70s

This ghazal is dedicated to my close friend Mr.Naresh Kumar from NY who has been a huge fan of Jagjit Singh for nearly 40 years and was referred to as "Encyclopaedia on Jagjit Singh" by Jagjit Singh himself.
This was sung in the late 70s in East Africa.

कुछ तो दुनिया कि इनायात ने दिल तोड़ दिया और कुछ तल्ख़ी-ए-हालात ने दिल तोड़ दिया पहले कहते थे वो चुप क्यों हो, ज़रा लब खोलो अब वो कहते हैं कि शिकायात ने दिल तोड़ दिया वो मेरे हैं, मुझे मिल जायेंगे, आ जायेंगे ऐसे मोहमिल से ख़यालात ने दिल तोड़ दिया (मोहमिल = जिसका कोई अर्थ न हो, निरर्थक) यूँ तो कहने को मुलाक़ात हुए थी उनसे क्या मुलाक़ात थी, हर बात ने दिल तोड़ दिया हम तो समझे थे के बरसात में बरसेगी शराब आयी बरसात तो बरसात ने दिल तोड़ दिया वो भी आलम था के हर रात हसीं होती थी ये भी आलम है के इस रात ने दिल तोड़ दिया -सुदर्शन फ़ाकिर इसी ग़ज़ल के कुछ और अश'आर: दिल तो रोता रहे, और आँख से आँसू न बहे इश्क़ की ऐसी रवायात ने दिल तोड़ दिया (रवायात = कहावतें, दस्तूर) आप को प्यार है मुझ से के नहीं है मुझ से जाने क्यों ऐसे सवालात ने दिल तोड़ दिया

Wah Sahab !! Kya baat kahen. I am speechless as I am listening to this. This ghazal is of course a very famous one- made immortal by Mallika-e-ghazal Begum Akhtar and I never thought anyone else but could sing it and make it sound so mellifluous. But the ghazal King Jagjit Sahab has done it again. We listeners are all in debt of people like Sachin Soni, Vijay Trivedi and of course audio engineer Raja Sehgal who have enriched our lives by releasing these recordings which were buried for so long. I have no words to thank you Soni Sahab !! The voice will live on forever.......!!

All of us have heard and praised Jagjit Singh ji but is'nt he singing in 100 percent style Ghulam Ali one must have the courage to accept the truth also, I started listening him from 1978, heard his concert at Shah Auditorium in 1980 but the hall was half occupies only, later I attended another concert in 1996 at Sri Fort Auditorium where full Govt alongwith Bajpayi saheb also was present, as long as Farida Khanum sung people were spellbound but as Jagjit Singh came with Gulazar and he sung first ghazal 70 percent of audience moved out cos he lost that spell, so after hearing Farida Khanum no one could bear his style, another instance I heard Ghulam Ali Saheh in an open air theater at Pragati Maidan for about 1 hour it was a pin drop silence and even the breath taking was not heard so Ghulam Ali the great. Another instance I heard Ahmad Hussain Mohd Hussain in FICCI hall the programme set for 50 minutes they sang the best it was 1990, people started shouting for more and more but organizers could not help it. So let's accept there is more world than one or 2.
