My father used to tell us about a person who gave a demonstration during an ocean voyage (in 1936 or 1937) he called Kudabux who was blindfolded in this way, and would ask people around the table to hold up different objects and he would identify them. Later during the dinner, Kudabux claimed there were such things as ghosts. My father showed an open skepticism to this claim. Your grandfather bet my father that if my father went into a certain house and stayed the night, that he would literally get thrown out bodily BY GHOSTS. I'm not joking. I remember the details of the story Kudabux told of himself getting thrown out of that house by ghosts. On the advice of others at that dinner, my father chose not to take Kudabux up on the bet. It was years later I was tuning into a children's show (Wonderama) when I saw this same person blindfolded as he was here, navigating around obstacles on a tricycle. I remember I couldn't wait for my father to come home to tell him I saw the very same person my father told us about 30 years earlier on a TV show.

I came to look at this film of Kuda Bux via the books of Edgar Herbert-Caesari, a singing teacher. EHC wanted to draw a parallel between an exercise he did as a singing student and what KB demonstrates in this film. EHC experimented with whether he could see the vocal mechanism down in the laryngeal chamber. He says that he sang for 30 minutes each day with his focus aimed downwards. After days, weeks and several months went by, bit by bit, he was able to see the vocal cords working as he sang!

@Kartikay108 well with new science in this age (superstring theory/ M theory) i say its absolutely possible to grasp. we are learning how atoms act differently when observed, and go back to working weird when we dont observe. what this shows is that our minds, which are just connections with everything in this universe, are all linked. we have the power to manifest our destiny or shape this world to what we want it to be. in other words, anything is possible.
@nuworlds Жыл бұрын
It is possible that this is done with ESP (extra sensory perception) but unlikely. It is more likely that Morse Code would be very easy to send from an assistant. This is how most magicians with ESP or mind reading do it. Having worked in the industry for awhile these are the tricks of magicians: Using transmitter or vocal cues from an assistant that the audience is unaware of. Either way, this is a VERY good skill and hard practiced and almost magical in its delivery. If you don't like seeing behind the curtain just ignore this comment and come to your own conclusion.

Kuda Bux was a real magician. He spent many years developing this extraordinary ability. Many people will find it very hard to believe that it is possible to see without your physical eyes, mainly because this is totally outside their experience. But most people have had some sort of ESP experience. The key is practice. I know because I have spent many years developing ESP and I have seeing through playing cards. See auras. Read people's minds word for word etc. I tell the true believe it or not that's fine.

I think this trick has a lot to do with hearing. Notice that they're using a chalkboard and Kuda is standing right next to them. I think iyt's possible to tell letters by specific chalk movements.
@KeithOtisEdwards7 жыл бұрын
What about the long curvy line? There is only one continuous movement. He might be able to hear the chalk moving and in one direction, but how can he trace the line precisely?
@jangray3956 жыл бұрын

That's what I thought at first, but the gauze and blindfolds covered his ears pretty well too. I don't think it would be possible for him to hear well enough with such coverings over the ear... too muted. Also at 4:10 he lets the guy erasing the board know he forgot to erase some of it, and the guy, who can see completely didn't even notice, and then does a double take to make sure KB can't see.
