That traverse looked real scary. Good on you for crossing it and also for deciding to to head back to safety. Frankly my heart is in my mouth whenever I see videos of you or peter doing such traverses. All it takes is one slip. Really wish you guys would carry ice axes on these trips. It will set a good example for others as well.
@Creedaz3 жыл бұрын
The snow was soft enough to make steps. I will definitely carry two trekking poles (instead of one) for such traverses in future. Ice axe would be very heavy (minimum 400 gm) to carry for hundreds of kilometres. We would be using it for frozen gullies which would be rare.

It is at a 2 hr drive from Keylong. There are few homestays in the village. Kugti will be nice in August end and September beginning. October is not a good time as the altitude may experience fresh snowfall.

Thanks for sharing this video pf your experience of attempting Kugti pass. I had been searching internet for quite few years to get some authentic video of this trail. Having done multiple treks in Himalayas myself, I must admit that it looked really scary as you approached the pass as well as the other side of it. One general question, if you will. I have always read that the route for this trek starts from Bharmor side. Did you start from the other side since you guys were already there?

Hey Manav, Just got acquainted with your channel and I am glad I did. Responsible for watching a lot of your videos over the last 2-3 days, hehe. Excellent content and very informative for aspiring solo trekkers. I had a question about the shoes you guys were using. Are they the Power Lionel running shoes you documented for the Monsoon Trek series? If yes, could you let me know how they perform on these slippery/snowy conditions?

I will soon make a video on the differences in Lionel / Forclaz and Altrarunning shoes. It will clarify all the doubts.

@@Creedaz So, the trails can be discovered using apps like Open street apps?
@Creedaz3 жыл бұрын
You can follow a trail mapped or added in open Street map. You cannot discover new trails. New trails need to be logged first while hiking and then they can be added to the OSM (Open Street Maps) database so that they are visible to everybody hiking thereafter.
