Great. found this sonatine extremely boring when I had to learn it as a teenager (like Clementi, for that matter), but I discover now that it really sounds beautiful - played by a real pianist of course.

Very fine, sensitive performance; beautifully thought out, beautifully shaped. One could scarcely ask for more in this piece. Anyone posting that the performance along with the music is dead is uttering sheer nonsense. The piece is clearly getting what it demands, neither more nor less, and the results are completely satisfying.

+Sabrina and Anjiuline I don't like excessively fast tempos either, and I don't entirely disagree with you, at least on principle. However, I still find this presentation quite acceptable. I feel that the tempo he uses somehow manages to make its point, without sounding too hectic or frenetically driven. Hint: think of early Beethoven rather than Mozart.

I respect the hightness of this Interpeter and His choice of the piece. Of course He is Oriental and gives His calm interpretation. Instead, I am Italian and romantic and I would give a more touching version. Just my opinion. I am soecialized in Baroque Authors, which often were Italian... there is a BIG tradition. Anyway, THANKS FOR THE PRECIOUS LESSON... sa

Kuhlau would applaud this performance. This sonata is absolutely delightful to play. It is considered a late intermediate level so it is somewhat challenging but so much so. It lends itself to easy muscle memory which helps the player obtain the speed more easily.
