My late wife was a piano major at Ohio University. I think it was 1952 or '53 when she won the Chopin competition. When I hear this, I can see her again, sitting at her piano in our living room, totally absorbed as she played this beautiful Sonata. She loved everything Mozart. She died in 2003 of cancer. I miss her and her music.

@channguyen67812 жыл бұрын
but Mozart is very difficult tbh
@MiguelCatalaoMusic2 жыл бұрын
@@channguyen6781 Yeah! The problem in Mozart is finger balance. The left hand on the second part of the exposition has to be at the same time soft and fast and it's so difficult to have balance in the left hand, and this goes on and on in the whole piece! And everything's so exposed in every Mozart's piece, you really need to have intent in every note! The triad Bach, Mozart and Beethoven are true geniuses! They laugh at the hours we spend trying to achieve a glimpse of their excellence!
@yskwong2 жыл бұрын
This piece isn't easy. It's one of the easier Sonatas from Mozart, but it's definitely not easy. It's only "easy" because it's Sonata in C Major, but it needs you to have very strong techniques, and as it progresses into other keys, there are more black keys, and it becomes "more difficult".

I'm 74 years old. Played piano all my life with a focus on accompaniment to congregational singing and all kinds of gospel music. As a result, I was very familiar with the keyboard but never introduced to the classics. Within the last year, a dear friend who knew how I loved music (and loved being as musical as I could be) really encouraged me to begin to understand and get acquainted with the preludes and fugues, Bach's inventions and sinfonias, etc. I'll never look back.....I'm working on only the simple ones, of course, but finding such joy in realizing that I CAN learn to play them - as well as I can learn to play them - always looking for the music in it, and once I catch that - learning how to express it as well as I can. I do a lot of "looking performances up" on line and listening to how the masters play them. I don't make their performance a goal, obviously, but I can make it a learning point, a reference point. I have long been familiar with certain melody lines and certain titles - and am finding a great deal of satisfaction in gaining in understanding and ability to play the pieces - at my level. About 18 months ago, I had a bad fall and injured several fingers on my left hand, impacting mobility. I am finding that the daily piano playing is incredibly therapeutic for that hand. ....and I am still enjoying, very much, the endless progressions and predictable patterns of gospel music. Talking OLD gospel here - stuff published 1942 and before. That's a genre all its own. Music - a fair and glorious gift of God. I will never play for an audience other than God. I hope He's pleased with my progress.

I learned this when I was about 7 or 8 years old🥹I am 22 years old now and still don’t know how to read sheet music. I learned it by ear and just double checking with people that know how to read sheet music to triple check that I played it right. But I play piano solely by ear 👂🏽🎹🥹 There’s so much nostalgia and memories associated with this song. It is such a beautiful melody and to this day is still one of my favorite tunes. I still play it to this day, along with many more tunes other songs. I love all types of music and instrumentals like interstellar, Narnia, lion king’s this land, Balto soundtracks, or any Hanz Zimmer music honestly. I love it all🥹piano, music, melody, harmony, symphony is my outlet and soothes my soul, playing piano will remain in me forever 🥹🎹I love music. Even though I will probably never learn how to read notes or sheet music, I will always play piano and sing in harmony. Thankful to and grateful that God gave me such gift like this😭🥹🤍

About the 1st mov. The dynamic is excelent. It sounded soft yet firm with the bass being semi percussive when needed. Even if it's played a little fast, the control he has with each key press is remarkable. Emphasizing the correct notes like they are supposed to be is by no means an easy task. This guy really thought this through and through.

A little ways after 1:53, just as he reaches the statement of the theme in F Major, this quality appears in the sound - this kind of floating, angelic sheen that just mystifies me. Probably Barenboim meant to get exactly that tone (I don't know how he would achieve it), or possibly the recording engineer brought it out in some way, or perhaps the room's acoustics just lined up perfectly for that moment to shine. But it's magic.
@不想取名字-j6j2 жыл бұрын
i think he probably used the pedal at that moment
@NoreenHoltzen2 жыл бұрын
The unusual tone is from the extremely beautiful acoustics. You would be shocked if hearing that same section in a small room, as he used absolutely no pedal, which you hear especially in the left hand mezzo-staccato. The floating feeling is from playing molto pianissimo skilfully (slight crescendo each descent) in right hand with no pedal and such energetic acoustics making impression unusually floating.

Well today is your lucky day. You can now go back to 1780s. Here are some crucial detailed do's and don'ts about your travel through time. You'd have to stay at the point of travel for 3 months before you can travel back, the time machine needs to recharge on a water source for it to travel you back in your original time. Remember to always keep watch of your time machine and be careful not to damage it or let it be stolen by potential looters. Do not share any knowledge that hasn't been known or discovered yet from the point in time of your travel to your original time. You cannot tell anyone about the knowledge of a time machine or knowledge about your original time line. In case of travels to the past, you'll be given time period appropriate clothing and necessities based on historian knowledge, these should last you 3 months. In case of travel to the future, you'll be given a black suit and necessities based on research from our time technicians of the future's way of life. Installation of a chip that monitors every part of your behavior is mandatory. If one of these rules are broken, the chip and the time machine will automatically self destruct resulting in your death and the machines destruction. Enjoy your trip.

Adam Gučík If you enjoy it, that’s fine; however it is no masterpiece. Apart from one of the most simple and memorable opening four bars in the whole of music, the rest is pretty predictable and the first two movements in particular are nothing more than an unadventurous journey along very long stretches of barren Alberti bass. It is probably Mozart’s weakest sonata.

The sounds of Mozart’s music inspiringly pour awesomely a certain kind of spiritual enrgy with the wonderfully harmonious melody of “ beauty and simplicity ” through my ears into my heart ❤

A golden chocolate, scattered toys, a curious child prince in a palace, the walking shoes of the early English royals, these are things that come to my imagination whilst listening..!

How Mozart puts the flats and sharps into a piece is mesmerizing

One of my favorite composers, together with Vivaldi. I love this music so much that I compose in their style, in spite of modern composers telling me baroque/classical music is old and surpassed :)

Let’s not be goofy. You don’t “compose in their style” 🤡 I don’t have to click your channel to know that, either. Maybe you mean “I try my best to imitate them”. But obviously this is a useless thing to strive for. Be original.

@@GourSmith What I wanted to say is that yes, of course I am original, but I go back to the classical principles of melody, tonal and consonant harmony, and development, in contrast to contemporary classical music, which tends largely to avoid satisfying all of them. The rational and at the same time emotional and melodic way of composing that the classical composer had is my music model, and it makes a lot of sense to recuperate it.

@@federicoaschieri I’m just giving you a hard time. No need to explain yourself. We both love Mozart. I’m just bullshitting over here.

@@GourSmith Don't worry. What you said had perfectly sense: if it didn't, I wouldn't have bothered answering.

Wow! Barenboims tonal control and phrasing are just mindblowing. And imo, Mozart's music only shows how impressive it really, really is in the hands of exceptional musicians like him.

Once I get used to listening to the performances of this great pianist, I'm able to hear those of other pianists with my sensory ears, though Mozart’s spirit will not resonate in my heart’s ears ❤
