Great review…when wearing a hoodie pull your hood on before trying to put bino harness on, it gets the hood out of the way making harness go on much easier.

How about wearing the Stalker 500 as a backpack with the Bino harness? id like something for 3D archery stuffs/ hiking all day, but I'd like to be able to pull the pack off and access arrows or gear without pulling the whole bino harness off ( verses buying the bladder bag to clip in the harness.
@robzmancave
@robzmancave 7 ай бұрын
That is 100% doable! I wear my harness while scouting and sometimes I take the 500 with me as a small backpack. It works very well! Also, you could definitely use the bladder pocket to store arrows if you were shooting 3d, TAC, etc.

Good video, I’m stuck between this or the skyline from stone glacier

The skyline looks solid! The material seems like it would be loud, but other than that, looks like a very comparable harness!

@@robzmancave I might just end up buying both and see what I like more. I love the modularity of the kuiu but also the simplicity of the skyline. Both companies are top tier so probably can’t go wrong with either

I have a Kuiu Pro Bino and I’m considering changing to the Marsupial for a few nitpicky reasons. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s a great Bino pack, but there’s room for improvement. The pocket in front is nearly unusable because it’s so tight. The Velcro on the bottom doesn’t work well, is loud and tends to collect burrs, pine needles etc. They could have better utilized the back of the pack with a thing pocket instead of making it wasted space. The way the Bino tethers attach to the harness is money. The way the attachments go on the harness is super secure and works well. The rangefinder pouch and lanyard are great. The one handed operation of the pack is good, but I’ve had magnetic ones that do it better. Wish they’d have gone with some sort of webbing attachment like Marsupial. Waterproofing is pretty damn good on the material that Kuiu used, but I wish both of them came with an integrated rain cover like the Badlands Bino XR

If I was going to have any other harness it would be Marsupial! For what it’s worth I agree with everything you said. I just don’t care about using the front pocket. I’d like to be able to put a micro 9mm behind the harness., and would like to see better attachment point in the bottom. Now I have been in some pretty good rain and binos stayed 100% dry. I just knew they would be soaked. I’ll probably buy a marsupial harness and do a review on it. I need a spare harness anyway for scouting.

I'm definitely going to pick up the Pro bino harness. I currently have the first Gen which does not have the full enclosure. So I get a lot of dust/debris on my binos. Especially because I wear mine in. Also I like that the pro allows you to run the binos without the strap. Also the pro side pockets are way more stretchy and will allow me to run my small infragreen flashlight that I use to walk to/from my stand. It allows me to be able to see 100 yds in the woods without animals detecting it. I need that on public Especially because I don't flag or mark any of my spots. I am also hoping the pro will allow me to run the binos even higher on my chest because I do notice interference with my bridge. But I'm also hoping that getting a new saddle with adjustable bridge will help with that too. I'm still undecided on the phone holder for that same reason. I will most likely buy the pro bino harness with the rangefinder. Get my new saddle. If it doesn't interfere I'll prly pull the trigger on the phone holder. Thanks for the review!
@robzmancave
@robzmancave 2 жыл бұрын
I could run it even higher on my chest, but I like it to be a little loose. An adjustable bridge is the way to go. Helps keep it out of the way. I think you will definitely love it, especially if you like the OG harness. The phone holder is great too. I like the ability to have my phone right there without digging. And if I’m saddle hunting, if something goes wrong it will be easy to grab if I need to call for help.

can you put the rangefinder in the front pocket of the phone holder? I am looking to do that, rather than running a pouch on both sides. thanks

Hey, I am curious if you can just hang the Bino harness on the SYS strap?
@robzmancave
@robzmancave Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Not sure if it would be very convenient, and would call for a lot of movement while grabbing and putting back your binos, phone, or rangefinder. But I hang mine on the gear strap all the time while I’m adding/removing layers.

Might have missed it but which size is this and which binos you have in there? Can you measure the distance from the bottom of the case up to edge of the rigid back plate? Other internal measures would be interesting as well?
@robzmancave
@robzmancave 2 жыл бұрын
This is the large. My binos are Vortex Crossfire HD 10x42. They are 6” long and 5 1/4” wide. The inside of the harness is 7 1/2” to 7 3/4”deep to the lip on the back, not counting the lid, and about 6 1/2” wide. I use the thick shim pad that comes with it to raise the binos up and it is perfect. Plenty of extra room without being wasted space.
@smau990
@smau990 2 жыл бұрын
@@robzmancave Awesome, my new binos are on the spot 6.75" with eye cups open as I use them but I also use the bino pack for camera and fly boxes outside of hunting season. Either way L seems perfect size for me. Considering the measures, the cutoff Kuiu recommends for L vs XL seems bit short. With delivery costs to Europe the errors aren't cheap so thank you very much for the help.
@robzmancave
@robzmancave 2 жыл бұрын
I think the outside height is 8” high and the material is thin. I would think that binos 7.5” high would fit, but be snug. But I do think their suggestion of 6.75” or less is a little short for the actual maximum

@@robzmancave Just got the XL harness in today. My Vortex Razor HD 12x50s are 7 1/16" high and 4 1/2" wide and they really seem to be flopping around in the harness. Definitely need to put a shim in for the height, but the side to side movement is really bothering me. I am probably going to exchange for large size.
@robzmancave
@robzmancave 2 жыл бұрын
@@bmctvsh i definitely think the large will be perfect for those. May not need a shim for height, but I’m sure it’ll be less floppy side to side.

And no magnets, alot of harnesses have gone to using magnets to close and open but that's a big no for me because it interferes with a compass. I believe this is the best option on the market
@robzmancave

I absolutely love the fact that it doesn’t have magnets. They also make a lot of noise, and can snap together unexpectedly. Only thing I wish was better was the small zip pocket on the front of the bino pouch

does the top of the bino harness use magnets to close? I have a pacemaker and i am having trouble finding full enclosed bino harness without magnets. Magnets will interfere with pacemaker function. Hoping someone can steer me in the right direction. thanks in advance
@robzmancave

This bino harness does not use any magnets. It uses an elastic band that pulls tight around the top to seal. Works very well to keep dust and rain out. I cant say enough good things about this harness and pouches. Hope this helps!

Oh boy, imagine spending more on your bino harness than you did on your binos 😬 not trying to be a hater but damn that’s just absurd. Did you get this because it’s actually that much more functional or because it says kuiu on it?
@robzmancave
@robzmancave Жыл бұрын
Not sure if you have priced bino harnesses lately, but the price is VERY competitive… in fact, there are others that are more expensive. To answer your question though, I did a lot of research, and used several others before getting this one. Although, I do exclusively wear KUIU camo, that pattern even, that was only a small portion of my decision making here. This harness, its features, and its quality are top notch!

@@robzmancave you've missed my point. i run this harness and the pouches with bx-5 santiams. what i was saying is you've spent upwards of $800 trying out harnesses to hold $150 binos. you'd have been so much further ahead to have spent that on glass and run a $25 butler creek harness. like i said, not trying to be a jerk but this is misguided. people that spend more money on their bino harness than their binos come across as posers
@robzmancave

@@jeffreylong6663😂 I get your point… that is if your point is that you have to have binos that cost a certain amount to own a quality harness. I guess your head would explode if I told you that the Binos were free! lol. I also have several other pair. So anyway… I guess you have never bought something and not liked it? Or thought it could be more comfortable… or wished it had other features? Maybe a climber, maybe a backpack?? MY point is, I don’t care how much your binos cost, and I don’t care how much mine cost, and goes for my gear too… as long as it works how I want it to work, it is comfortable, and good quality. Point is, you sound like a douche asking someone if they bought something because of the name on it, and turn around and gloat about your $800 binos 😂 by the way… $800 isn’t even close to middle of the road for binos. I appreciate your concern about my standards, and I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to tell me how “misguided” I am because my standard isn’t your standard. Please, I beg you, have a nice day!

Looking for gear that's quality without the sitka prices was difficult. But this company seems to be it for me. It's a lil pricey for clothes and whatnot but i guess you get what you pay for. The bino harness and hydration rig are on sale now. Hardest decision was valo camo or ash. Both look cool

The Sitka bino harness is actually quite a bit cheaper than this harness the way he has it configured. With the 2 extra pockets and the rf tether it’s well over $200. The Sitka can be had for $130 if you wait for one of those 30% off codes that they are always giving out
