AN EXTREME RIVER ADVENTURE TO THE CRYSTAL BLUE WATERS OF ZANISI FALLS OF JIPAPAD, EASTERN SAMAR!
Is this the Philippines best adventure? At the edge of the forest in Samar National Park, is this beautiful waterfall named for an Italian priest who played a big part in the history of the inland town of Jipapad.
We start in the tourism office with some of the excellent wood carvings that come from one of the far-flung barangays here.
Then after a wander around this heritage town, we are presented with an unusual dish: frogs!
This provided an excellent stomach filler for the real adventure; a bote (torpedo boat) ride to Brgy Cagmanaba, located in a beautiful valley just outside the forest. Locals here survive on the copra harvests from the many coconut plantations nearby.
The crowning jewel of Jipapad? Zanisi Falls - an incredible sight.
We're leaving Eastern Samar for now. What an adventure it has been.

I hope someone will tell the Filipino woodcarver (featured from 1:31 to 1:54) that the Philippine Flag on his T-Shirt sleeve is displayed WRONG. It should be displayed on the LEFT SLEEVE -- so the Triangle faces FORWARD. If the PH Flag is worn on his chest pocket (left or right) then the PH Flag is displayed OK. The same with the PH Flag displayed horizontally on a wall -- the Triangle faces the LEFT. Therefore, on the LEFT sleeve, the Triangle faces LEFT -- and FORWARD.

When you asked "You know what it tastes like?" when you ate the frog, I was expecting you to say "frog."😂 I wonder why people always say frog tastes like chicken. Maybe it's actually the chicken that tastes like frog. The river there is very beautiful as are the falls. Quite unique. Seeing how much the river rises is truly impressive, too. I would imagine they have to bring everything up to the 2nd floor of their homes to avoid losing it all in the flooding.
