Kumano Kodo | Solo hiking sacred Kohechi Route [4K]

The Kumano Kodo is one of Japan's great ancient pilgrimage routes that have been registered as a World Heritage Site.
Buddhist monks walking the route would equate it to their own death, rebirth and renewal.
Kohechi is the most remote and strenuous trail of the four main Kumano Kodo pilgrimage routes.
The 70 km trail is characterized by steep routes traversing passes over 1000 meters in elevation.
Every day offers a very different and unique atmosphere.

熊野古道には昔から興味が有りましたが、未だ、行っていませんが、此処と白神山地のブナ林にはぜひ行きたいと思います。長い海外生活にも、飽きたので、実家は東京浅草ですが、今は種子島に暮らしています。

Sounds exciting! I used booking.com for my stay at Koyasan and www.kumano-travel.com/en for the other accommodations. Some of the places I stayed at are very local so I’d recommend looking for accommodation as early as possible. Good luck!! 💪
