Kummi dance- Navratri special

Kummi is one of the most famous folk dances of tamil nadu..Kummi came into being when there was no music in the picture and women used to clap their hands and use that as their music for dancing. Clapping in sync with coordinated movements marks the USP of kummi and this shows the togetherness of these women. The spirit of kummi is in this oneness!!
In the occassion of Navratri where women celebrate goddesses and women power, we- Myself and Anjana wanted to share this simple kummi choreography which you can learn to dance your heart out with friends and family..For a tutorial of this choreography, head to Navadarshana's page

It’s supposed to be repetitive.. it’s a dance form which is traditionally done in circles by women clapping and form patterns of repetitive movements..clapping in unison is the dance’s USP
