ゲーム未プレイのアニメだけ見てる人間なんですけど、この曲の｢何を守って、傷つけて、今まで生きてきたんだろう｣って歌詞がめちゃくちゃ涙腺を刺激するんですよね 1話2話とこのOP映像を見て、戦いでボロボロになった空虚な街並みと、決して戦いを楽しんでなんかなくて、できるなら争いのない世界で誰も傷付けずに生きていたいというような気持ちが感じられるアーミヤ達の様子が切なくて虚しくてダメです、電車内とかでもOP映像思い出しながらこの曲聞いてると涙出そうになる

Reona did a really awesome job with conveying the atmosphere of the story, and basically how Rhodes Island roll. They are indeed alive, but with tremendous pain.

my personal favourite part of this OP is 0:19 for the simple fact that the person steadying their blade is a reunion member. It's so interesting to give a "bad guy" such a symbolic gesture of resilience and nobility. It shows that Reunion is essentially fighting the same fight as RH, just from a skewed angle.

Yeah, the Reunion supposedly portray as the typical antagonist but seeing the opening feel off and maybe one-sided. Like the transaction between 0:56 - 0:58 and 1:06 where one reunion wave goodbye on the girl. edit: and Ch'en (the dragon girl from L.G.D) @ 0:40 and 1:08 seem to have some sort of conflict within her.

主題歌が発表された時は何でUntitled Worldにしないんだろうって思ってた自分がいたけど、聞いた瞬間にそう思った自分を恥じた。Untitled Worldは歩む道が間違っていたとしても前へ進み続ける覚悟を感じて、Aliveは自分達の進む道が正しいのか間違いなのか分からないけど、迷いながらでも進もうと足掻こうとする思いを感じた。Aliveはそんなアーミヤ達の苦悩を感じ取れる繊細な曲だった。 サビに入る直前のアーミヤのあの覚悟を決めた、だけど今にも泣きそうな顔と、終盤の泣くのを堪えるように微笑むシーンはすごく印象深い。 Untitled WorldもAlive、どっちの曲もすごく好き。

As someone who has not fully played the game I can't fully say on everything that will happen but I am loving what I'm seeing this opening has such a sad but hopefully feeling to it which contrasts with the current situation but what it invokes in me is...A rallying call to everyone like shouting them to unite and fight aginst the unjust in this case Reunion the scars of the past have caused us so much pain but now is not the time to morn the fallen and cry about what we've lost instead it's the time to fight for what's left so we can build a better world for tomorrow that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger so let the tragedy fuel this fire of rebellion and freedom and fight for all that is beautiful.

It’s actually the entire opposite when you consider that Reunion are essentially what you get when you think like what you have mentioned in the post. Reunion members are physically fighting oppression of the infected. Rhodes Island, the protagonist group, are essentially fighting Reunion and believe in arriving at peaceful solutions through discussions and forming bonds. As the story proceeds, we see why Reunion, and hence those like them, are wrong.

アークナイツのストーリーを見てきたからこそ。 この歌のサビである｢何を守って 傷付けて 今まで生きてきたんだろう｣の部分で味方側であるアーミヤ達だけでなくレユニオンという敵側であるメフィスト、ファウスト達が出てきたので鳥肌が立ったのと、自然と涙が出てきました。 アークナイツを表すなら｢暗い物語｣だと言うかもしれません。 この歌はその｢暗い物語｣を照らしてくれる、アークナイツの本質を表す｢暗くとも光を探す。暗がりを照らす光｣を表してくれてる暖かな曲調の歌だと感じれる本当に素敵な歌だと感じました。 長文となりましたが最後にお伝えしたい事があります。 アークナイツをアニメから知り、アークナイツを今からプレイするドクター達がとても羨ましいです。

A few months back I got the chance to see ReoNa live and when asked about her style of singing during a short interview segment, she described it as "zetsubou-kei" - so she views herself as a "despair-type" singer. She didn't really mean that in a completely negative way though. After going through some stuff, she started trying to find the slivers of hope and speckles of light in the darkness through her music. I don't think anyone would deny this feeling of raw emotion she conveys through her singing~ There's probably no better fit of an OP singer for this kind of show, haha.
