That’s such a cool fact! So Yuen Qiu, the tough landlady from Kung Fu Hustle, was actually in The Man with the Golden Gun-she was one of the schoolgirls who helps Bond escape from the karate school! And her “husband” in the movie, Yuen Wah, was Bruce Lee’s stunt double in Enter the Dragon. Those flips and acrobatic moves we see Bruce doing? That was Yuen Wah. Amazing to think they both had these action-packed backgrounds!

The film is full of homages to Chinese martial arts novels and comics. Among them, the assassin named Beast is the Hwaunsashin(火雲邪神), the final boss of author Hwang Ok-rang's comics 'Dragon Tiger Gate (龍虎門)'. The actor, Bruce Leung(梁小龍), was an action actor in the 70s and 80s, but took a break from movies and returned with this work after about 20 years. The role I took on was so strong that I was bored and came back from resting at the hospital, so there are parts that overlap with my life as an actor.
