I always loved the fact that Po had a different role in each movie. The first, he was a student, next a warrior, and lastly a teacher. He's really come far. Kai was an amazing villain, and the visuals in this were incredible. Awesome trilogy and can not wait for the 4th.

@@johanstenfelt1206 Theory 1: A combination of all he has learned, as Oogway said. "Yesterday is History, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift, that is why they call it the present." Within Oogway's quote it shows to prove that Po over the course of the last 3 movies has worked on all three. Past, Present, and Future. Once he did he of course became the Dragon Warrior in the end of the third movie. The 4th's theme would probably be: Embracing Growth or something along those lines. Po is going to have to grow mentally, but emotionally and spiritually, hence him working on Inner Peace and becoming a Spiritual Leader. Theory 2: Embracing/Accepting Change Po is going to have to be more than the Dragon Warrior, and become a Spiritual Leader in order to find someone to replace him as the Dragon Warrior. He is going to have to accept his glory days are coming to an end, and he will pass on his wisdom carried down from Oogway and Shifu, etc.

Theres a popular theory that Oogway had a redemption arc and turned selfless instead of Kai turning greedy. Evidenced by both saying they fought alongside each other, and Kai straight up calling himself a warlord, meaning Oogway was probably one as well. Also fun fact, you can actually see a Tai Lung amulet on Kai's belt, meaning he likely caught him sometime in the spirit realm.

I think this is definitely supported by what we see and hear in the film. Kai is only ever renowned for his conquests, particularly when he refers to himself by numerous titles that a heroic character probably wouldn’t have, like “The Beast of Vengeance” or “Maker of Widows.” I definitely think this was an idea they toyed with but didn’t flesh out for whatever reason. Personally I think the fact that parents complained about the previous movie being too thematically mature and “dark” was a big factor, which is why this movie is much cheerier, sillier, and upbeat all-around. A plotline like that would’ve called Oogway’s character into question a bit and potentially been argued as too “dark” again. Or maybe they just didn’t have the time to really delve into it. Either way, I feel like this idea is still reflected in the finished product enough that you could make an argument for its validity.

The coolest part about the trilogy is that it follows traditional martial arts themes with their individual plots. Body: Po was trained to use his body in order to defeat Tai Lung who’s greatest weapon was his body and skill. Mind: Shen messes with Po’s head and memories, making him rethink everything, and come to terms with his past. Like shen couldn’t. Spirit: Po needing to become one with its own spirit or “chi” in order to defeat someone who has no understanding of their own chi and only takes from others I love these movies so much

@@TheLafandemangas Yes, since she and Kai set out almost at the same time for the village and she arrives before him, a couple of days before him. I always thought that Kai followed the path where he felt Po had passed, following the path of his "Chi", because how else did he find all the martial arts masters in a couple of days if he relies on physical clues and information to find his opponents, because for example a field where it was snowing, their path would be already buried and no one would be able to see their tracks.

Yeah this movie is really bad compared to the first two. Has all the traces of its TV series format and is still asking the same questions, even though they've made progress about that in the 2nd film. My biggest turn off is that this one is different in style, not artistically, but in writing. It is not subtle, and the villain has a very weak impact concerning its background, whereas the others were badass and intimidating while deep in their background.

I also thought like that the first time i watched this movie, but after some more watches i changed my mind a little. Still is the least good of the three, but it's not a bad movie. The main flaw i see in it is that it doesn't show it's main lesson on a more clear way. The movie is about humility, that is: focus more on what you can GIVE to people than what you can TALE from them. Everyone have something to give, just find out what you have (that's why it goes through tge "who am i" thing again). It also teaches humility on mastership, "even a master have something new to learn" and "not turn them into you, turn them into them". Kai, similarly, is a very good villain, but underutilized. It doesn't have many meaningul dialogue and screentime, his role was severely cut, but he HAVE everything to be a good villain. He goes on the same path of po, that is "learning that it's not about HE becoming a legend, but sharing the power so everyone can be worthy of one", but he refuses that lesson right at the begining of the movie. Throughout all of it he goes through a simple objective: Oogway took my legacy, i'll take it back. That's all what he cares: his legacy, being known and praised. To the reason to why he became obssessed with chi ( a important information that it was not explicit on the movie) , i think it's just because he saw his own mortality on Oogway so, instead of letting go of his ego and accepting fis finititude, like Oogway did, he wanted the security of eternal life and power. To why attack the village, they were the only ones that knew how to stop him. So, yeah, the movie is not the best on the trilogy, it have some failures, but i don't think it's bad or empty, it just wasn't very competent on making it lesson clear

My guess for the 4th movie's villain is the OG Dragon Warrior, who said was quite an evil bastard. Iirc, he was an actual dragon, thus the Dragon Warrior title, who then was defeated by his students, surviving by hijacking a vulture's body. Ironically, to live for years, he took the life force of others, growing stronger, like a Vulture.
