Kung Fu vs Boxing Hook

Makes perfect sense..the trajectory of the hook is a circular whipping punch..it goes and comes back in circular motion like stirring the pot..so the power and energy is continuous..not stopping in front of face like most boxers do..

nice vid as a boxer Kung fu hook do look more powerful but if it were to use it againts a boxer the Kung fu hook more likely to telegraph anf we would slip/weave under it. we boxers can produce more power by combining it with footwork interesting video BTW :D

+Lance Marco Elfino Thanks! I use the boxer's hook as well. I think both techniques have their places in a fight. Footwork is always the most important aspect of being able to land a strike!

Which style does the kung fu hook comes from ? Thx for your videos Lee . We want more of those :D

Thanks! I'm actually not sure what specific style this hook came from. I do mantis kung fu but have seen it in other kung fu styles such as Choy Lay Fut and Hung Gar. It may be such an old technique that the origin is obscure.
