Kung Fu VS Silat | 3 Dangerous Street Fight Moves: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZqsn6aModKKocU #kungfu #silat #martialarts #selfdefense #streetfight #fighting #karate #bagua #taichi If you are lucky enough to find a traditional Chinese Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Martial Arts Master you will probably be learning from an older Chinese Man or Woman whose family fled China during the early 20th century and raised him/her in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Canada, Australia, America, and/or Indonesia. This is why much of the HARD, POWERFUL, and TRADITIONAL Kung Fu you find (REAL KUNG FU not wushu) is also influenced partly by the other Martial Arts and Self Defense Fighting Styles of those countries. The Style of Southern Shaolin Kung Fu that I practice and teach arrived in America via Indonesia and that is why this video is a lot of fun. My long time friend Sakan Lam (www.KZbin.com/SakanLam) has been studying a Martial Arts Fighting Style called Pencak Silat which has origins in Indonesia as well as other Asian countries! Next time Sakan and I get together perhaps we should meet in Indonesia and go on a Martial Arts Fighting tour of sparring, fighting, kata, conditioning, and finding old Masters still willing to teach their historical and powerful martial arts systems to the next generation! This video should actually have been called #Bagua vs #PencakSilat These two martial arts styles have much in common! WHO WOULD WIN IN A REAL STREET FIGHT??? @A Arnis and Kali are the same art... They come from the Philippines. It is primarily a weapon based art which uses drilling as its basis for practice. Silat is primarily from Indonesia and Malaysia and has more of a traditional feel to it. They use a lot of dance like movements, weapons, sweeps, strikes, throws and joint locks.

Hey, Jake and friends! Over the years I've studied and learned many things from you. I just wanted to leave a positive comment of encouragement in hopes that you please keep up the good work! Seems a lot of "tough guys" want to be critical of you and your videos, so I just wanted you to know that most of your fans recognize those haters for what they are - peanut butter and jealous. So many are so quick to start a pissing contest with you, yet none of the haters have built what you have, nor have they helped as many as you do. I've studied Christianity (the manuscripts, not the English translations) for a long time ("Disciples" - "Discipline"). I've as well studied martial arts for a long time (Gong Fu = Self-Discipline). I study both not just for self-discipline, but also for self defense. Though King David had mastered his sling, he didn't acredit the defeat of Goliath to his training. Please continue to ignore the trash-talkers and "badasses," we do. As a fellow disciple of the martial arts, I appreciate that you stay above the pissing contests and stay true to promoting self-discipline and growth. "Toughguys," you should know that winning isn't always about skill, and that eventually, there will always arise someone better. Don't study martial arts to be more badass than everyone else, study martial arts to be more badass than you were yesterday. Anyways, thanks for the knowledge you've shared with us, Jake, and thanks for the time and care you put into sharing it! Safe travels!

In silat you can also attack the eye,and make your enemy blend and kill them. (Sure just in real combat in jungle or war) but in ordinary life, you have to make the best choices, like giving in, going away, and just attacking if it's still interrupted. because pencaksilat warriors know that they must win and they feel sorry for their enemies, and they choose not to seek problems, and prefer to make peace.

The more I study, research and delve deeper into various martial arts the more similarities I see in a multitude of them. It’s no wonder since the majority of them found their roots in Kung fu and evolved into other creative and effective styles as martial arts spread throughout the world. For example I used to think Hun Gar and Wing Chun were vastly different till I discovered some their applications mirror each other particularly the sticky hands of Wing Chun and the softer movements of Tiger Claw used to trap and control or manipulate limbs, keeping constant contact to always be sensitive to where your opponent’s energy is. The moves or techniques look different but the application and results are the same

Groin strikes can go to the stomach/solar plexus. Etc. You never learn to fight, then you‘re just a mean looking dancer.

Hai...saya bingung setelah nonton video dan liat komentar...krbanyakan komentarnya dr silat...mana org kungfu??apakah kungfu memang tidak suka mengkritik atau berbicara mengenai bela diri lain???love kungfu dan silat
@nieeel6765 жыл бұрын
Karna kungfu jarang di Indonesia kalau ada juga mereka kadang suka mikir ngapain berdebat dengan mereka adu mulut, melebih lebihkan sesuatu hanya dari 1 pandangan itu adalah sebuah kelemahan besar

I'm calling BS in the first move/throw you are in danger of a rear elbow, not safe and at 8:49 bringing your head that close to the knee is dangerous to getting a knee to the face and third when Jake throws a punch his stance is unrealistically wide you are teaching people techniques that dont work in street fights which is very dangerous you should not be doing that

You laugh but the forms found in fencing can be VERY effective in combat. Bruce Lee was fond of the footwork found in fencing.

Lol... this is not Kung Fu vs. Silat, it's a commercial or promo video. No Kung Fu-Fighter attacks with one hand and stops till he got finished by the defender. It's the same as in most other MartialArts-training-Session. One Attacker does a punch and stops. Or a kick and stops. The defender does three moves while the attacker stands still...

Jake, you seem like a nice guy, it's really hard to hate on you, and it's very clear that you have a passion for the Martial Arts, which is wonderful and you do a lot of great stuff online, why won't you post a video of you sparring or doing some actual pressure testing against a resisting opponent, even a student, as long as it's legitimate sparring, I think that will help shut the haters up for good, I personally have some doubts about your fighting ability, but I think you're a great guy. Is it something you might consider doing?... if not, can you please explain why? Thank you

the basic technique in silat is to destroy the opponent's balance & lock the opponent's movements.

I like silat to learn and apply unlike other martial forms the silat and other sout east asian martial forms meant to apply in warfare and comfort zones as this martial artists never need any others equipments to train as they have things already in place.
