I really like the nice attitude you two have as you team up together. I could learn a few things.

Well thank you for those kind words! And thank you for checking out our video and taking time to comment. Much appreciated! Laurie and I work well together because I know my role. Laurie is the head chef and I just keep the oven and the cameras going. :-) Thanks again.

Strong In Retirement , since having cancer 11 years ago and now cancer free, I decided to build an Italian Wood Fire Oven. It took months and through several successful surgeries, am cancer free but it was so difficult but the oven helped me take my mind off of my prognosis as I was only suppose to last 4 months, 11 years ago. I received a miracle and that’s what the doctor said. I than built another wood fire oven, version 2.0 and wow, home run with rock from the mountains near us in Utah. Then I bought a cabin on 4 acres in Eden, Utah and this past week my son and I built a “readers digest” version of a Wood Fire Oven. It works fantastic yet snow will get us soon as we live on a ski resort so I’ve been eye balling the OONI Koda 16. I don’t like the way the Pro version looks but can see ourselves porting the Koda16 on our deck with 5 feet of snow but as you know, propane only. The reason I like your videos is because you 2 are real. Charing, and sometimes burning has helped me with get a real view as I’m going to still purchase the Koda16. So thx for being real. I love San Mateo as that was part of my FedEx Territory with Burlingame where I visited teams I managed in FedEx Automation. It was one of my favorite spots since I flew into Oakland from Salt Lake City and would go to my office in San Ramon. I digress as I deep dive into your beautiful area. Keep up the great work as I always believe, “nothing is more important than the team. You have a great team and I thought you’d would appreciate it as I noticed.

Thank you for your response. I am so pleased to hear your story, your progress, and positive outcome. This is one of the goals we hoped to achieve--sharing and "getting to know" our viewers through their comments. Thank you for taking the time to write your story and inspiring others who may be struggling. You will love the Koda 16. Clean burning, consistent heat source. Portable but heavy duty. Well-made product. Pizza-making is challenging and fun. Yhank you again.

It's amazing how an oven can make our life happier. Great job!

Thanks, Oscar. We ordered our oven during the lockdown and we started our channel as a way to keep ourselves busy. We have had alot of fun and met so many viewers that we communicate with regularly. We love hearing from our viewers and learning from them. Do you have an Ooni or other pizza oven? Laurie.

Great video as always! Nice Darkside-ish T-shirt! The Ooni gloves are a real value at $20. The dual side grizzler plate and cast iron pan really extend the value of the oven LOL! First video for non-pizza dishes you have not mage those points!

Thanks Simon! I do like my black t-shirts. :-) We need to figure out the right length of video based upon content. About 45% of the views happen on mobile phones. Thank again for taking time to view and comment. Much appreciated!

Speaking of birds, I'm seeing a 5ga orange bucket over there, and on the other side some great pottery.. that and a solar mini pump would make a really fun bird attraction.

We would love to see your birdbath. Would you share a photo or any comments to stronginretirement@gmail.com. I love to watch birds. I had a large porcelain birdbath at one time.

What is your preference moving forward regarding heating up the grizzler plate or cast iron pan before adding meat as opposed to letting everything heat up at the same time?
@TwelfthAvenueCuisine4 жыл бұрын
Hi, rbiv25. This is Laurie. It would depend what I am cooking. For searing meat or for this stir-fry, I would heat the pan first. If I am making the stuffed mushrooms or chicken wings, I would take advantage of the warm up time (the 20 minutes prior to making pizza) and place the food in a cold oven. It is a best practice to have food at room temperature before cooking or the outside gets cooked while the inside is still raw. Thanks for your question. We always look forward to your response to our videos.

Well done for persevering despite the camera issues. I always worry about your footwear when you are putting in and pulling out heavy objects from the ooni koda.

Thanks! And great call out on my footwear! I do think about that possibility and it could really hurt. Thanks for checking out the video and taking a moment to comment. Much appreciated.
