Kungsleden 2023 Day 10 Cold, Wet, Windy

After one of our sunniest days, we wake up to one of our grayest. Rain above and mud below, this is a wet day. Even with clouds the trail provides some stunning scenery.

Sweden has around 8 types of Phasianidae (chicken-pheasant family) in Sweden. There are ptarmigans, partridge, quail, grouse, and something called Western Capercaillie that looks just like a ptarmigan. I think this is a female Rock Ptarmigan.
