The Person who changed the perception in the minds of the commoner - till his arrival into the scene , Violin was considered an accompaniment for great Carnatic Musicians and only those purists could enjoy . With his modulations and uniqueness , he proved that the commoner too can enjoy Carnatic Music .Not only did he perform to packed halls wherever he went , his background scores for Tamil movies are still a treat to the ears . His style till today is much appreciated - his name is etched in the minds of the Music lovers whenever they see a violin .

The Legend enthralled me in my childhood days when I heard him on the gramophone, radio and later, Doordarshan. He and the violin were one, a sort of a union at birth or probably across lifetimes. There won't ever be another of his league in a long, long time - unless he decides to descend again to make all dance to his tunes - literally! To me, all of music has never been the same after his exit and that of Saraswati incarnate MS.
