I was in Kunyu shan in 2016.I have enjoyed practicing and will to continue to do so.I enjoyed the time training under masters. After training I would usually lay in bed just to make sure I had enough energy for the next day:)

The only thing I regret about coming here is ever leaving the place too soon. I can tell anyone who's watching this and is interested in going to any martial arts school in China; You want to go as long as you possibly can. Take a year, take two years, hell, take five. I started right before Ramy came along. We trained together for most of the time and, among many, we ended up being some of the closest kungfu brothers. I'm so happy and at the same time a tad jealous that he's still living the dream at the foothills of Kunyu Shan!

thank you Ramy,very useful information sharing. I have been training different sports since young age also learn brazalian ji jutsu for couple of month.Is it possible to learn as a main base Tai Chi instead Kung Fu?I want to be a Taichi master
@ramykandil90666 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeremy. Ok so tai chi is a branch of kung fu which includes shaolin, wing chun, baji, xing yi, and so on. You do have that option as we have a group dedicated to learning tai chi full time, and the master is excellent. In addition to that there are optional morning tai chi classes which are lead by master Guo. I'd always recommend getting some experience training with him as he is an amazing individual with so much knowledge to share and he has this energy to him that is quite amazing on its own. Hope this will help you.

Great video. Is it possible to focus and train in only one style? Although i humbly respect and appreciate all styles of Chinese martialarts?
@ramykandil90666 жыл бұрын
Hi. For the most part you do train with high concentration in one discipline but you do get to mix it up a couple of times a week. For example I'm in the sanda group and we mostly train sanda yet we do have shaolin forms classes once or twice a week and shaolin basics training as well once a week. For the shaolin groups, they mostly train shaolin basics and forms. In addition to that though they have 2 sanda classes a week, which in my personal opinion works really well. Everything you learn in each discipline can be applied in different ones, I trained shaolin for a year and 2 months then changed to sanda and I definitely noticed how I was able to use what I've learnt from shaolin training in sanda in regards to control, balance, power transfer through the body, mental toughness and list goes on. Hope this will help you. ✌

I have a great interest in learning Kung Fu, I have no prior training in martial arts however, I have trained in classical dance and gymnasticstherefore my fitness levels are quite good and flexibility is also ok. Strenghth however may be an issue. I especially am interested in monkey form Kung Fu . Can i make it?
@ramykandil90666 жыл бұрын
Hi you definitely can make it. This is a great place to build up that strength and especially with your background you should be able to pick up the forms fairly quickly. Keep in mind though there are a bunch of basic forms you are required to learn before having access to advanced forms such as a monkey form. So it really depends on the amount of time you have here. Each form takes around a month to get through more or less but that depends on how fast you're able to learn it and perform it up to standard. There are around 7 basic forms you need to get down first then you have the option to pick a form you would like to learn, these forms consist of fist and weapon forms. As I mentioned in the video I've been here for a year and nine months so far and I've learnt a ton of forms and really fell in love with it. Hope this info is helpful and if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Hey there! So I'm looking at potentially shipping out to Kunyu to train in San Da. Can you tell me a bit more about the San Da training? Ie, typical class structure, how many hours a day you were doing what, etc.
