I've been on this train exactly on this day 23 years ago in 1998. We didn't have a video camera back then and I'm just reading through our diary from that journey which made me look for KZbin videos of the train ride. Thanks for refreshing some of my memories.

Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful video here. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the journey. My Mum and Dad would have loved this too. When I was growing up Dad used to work at the Ipswich Railway Workshops and quite often he would take our happy family of five on the overnight train journey from Brisbane to Rockhampton & return and once from Brisbane to Sydney, but that was in 1970. Sadly my little sister passed away in 2014 and both parents passed away within 8 weeks of each other in 2019. Only my brother and I left now. I really hope some day I can do this journey once we are through with the Covid19 Lockdowns.

Wonderful Narrative of your trip to Kuranda. I’m from Perth Western Australia and have many relatives who live in Cairns. I haven’t been on this trip so after seeing your youtube post, I will definitely take this trip during this Christmas family reunion. Thanks for sharing and G’Day from Australia 🇦🇺

Very good. I was on that ride about 21 years ago. Best trip I have ever had. I did not think much of the idea at first. But 10 minutes into the journey I was mesmerised. Will have to go back some time soon... perhaps during a wet season.

Tom Hall I live about 70 miles west of Vienna not far from the famous Melk abbey. Beautiful countryside all around us. Summers are fine, winters too cold! When I was younger, I was in the States quite often, also in California. Had good friends there. Was a wonderful experience. Now that I'm getting old I prefer watching great videos like yours to travelling!

Johann Mueller I know exactly where you live, and it is gorgeous. I spent some time in the Wachau valley and in Durnstein. T

Tom Hall I'm glad that you liked your stay Austria. You mentioned your trip to Durnstein. 1 or 2 years ago I watched a video on KZbin that was made by a tourist with an American accent. He was walking up to the medieval fortress. Could it be that this was one of your videos? Best wishes J
