I just finally decided to watch this show and when Kurapika went to fight him i thought he was insane. Considering Kurapikas convictions, i thought he'd meet a spider before he was ready. I thought when he met one, he'd fight them too early simply because of his emotions. I thought he was fucking dead after seeing the shadow beasts annihilated like that, so I was glad Melody got him to stop. When he went to fight him anyway i was on the edge of my seat man. This arc of the show was incredibly well written.

Kurapika is buffed by the scarlet eyes by default (strength boost) and Emperors Time allows Kurapika to output 100% of his aura in EVERY category when he normally can not (reference the emitter example from before). So, Kurapika is not using "level 10 enhancer skills" at 100% aura output like Uvogin is. He is using "level 4 skills" that are being output to 100% instead of 40%.
