Here's the thing about the GK. It sucks balls. But it's a T10 ship. The only reason why people think it sucks is because there are foolproof T10 ships. They stomp as long as they don't give broadside. GK by virtue of being a T10 ship has its strengths boosted to the max. The ship doesn't suck, the players do. It's a harsh thing to say but it is what it is. All T10 ships have their strengths inflated really hard and they all have their weaknesses. Some more than others (like the GK) and if you get caught in a weakness and in other ships' strengths, it doesn't matter what ship you're running. You're dead. GK needs those islands. It needs them like a crackhead needs its crack. Everybody knows the GK is busted a mid-close range yet nobody camps islands close to objectives. If you do that as a GK, you've won your objective. Nothing can push it. Not a DD, Not a CA, Not a CL, not a BB. The best advice i give to GK players is play it like a Des Moines and if you see an opportunity, dont charge in. Peek, do your thing and hide. Whoever is in front of you will run/die faster than you. You're a GK at close range.

Also if you need to defend yourself if a flank has collapsed for example, you can kite away keeping the enemy at secondary range, you have better firing angles backwards iirc

"You're a GK at close range" , yep... you still take those 20k salvos at close range, regardless of angle from AP... and get set on fire more than portland the last few years. Not a recommended experience, coming from someone who *really* tried to make GK work before the PTSD rework, and reeee-rework, it wasn't fun or rewarding in the past... let alone in this new game I feel is quite different from what I played 5 years ago. :D

i havent played GK in a while because i dont like it, but for secondary battleships I find concealment to be very useful because it allows you to get into spots you wouldnt normally be able to if you didnt have concealment, and sometimes you can catch people by surprise and by the time they react they're already within secondary range. It also makes disengaging a lot easier which I find to be really important if you're the one pushing.

I took out my FdG last night to try out the secondaries, matchmaker put three Shimakazes on each side, I lived about five minutes, and put the FdG back in the shed.

@@DavidSmith-te9gg nah, as a bb with some useable main guns you can always support the team from a distance. German bbs push close or literally sail around trying to shotgun targets at 20km.

Its definitly improved, but still reliant on being able to push hard and have team support. Im finding if you get mid rather than left or right spawn it can be a death sentence with the 15.9km detection on the full secondary build as cruisers and HE spamming bbs will just maul you too badly before you can pressure a cap.

Totally a late game winner, crushing out of position ships with low HP in one on ones or one on twos after 10 minutes......but getting past those first 10 minutes is the hard part.

If I spawn mid, I just full reverse until I have enough room to maneuver without being spotted, provided there's no CV of course.

Love my newly acquied GK, 253k in its first game. Concealment is pretty pointless in a BB as you are permasptted anyway due to DD CV and shooting, ive taken it of all my BB now.

I don't really play my GK all that much anymore simply due to her being so unsuited for the meta, despite the significant buff to her secondaries. HE spam + CVs permaspotting you every game is just not a fun experience in any ship, let alone an xp piñata like the Kurfürst. I still play Pommern A TON though because tier 9 mm is always great. Just wish I was downtiered in it more lmao

I Never use IFHE,105mm secondaries are good firestarters, fast reload, and they still pen Cruisers, DDs and BBs superstructure.

Dont use the legendary mo in gk or repu, when the range reduces the max dispersion still stays same as normal 20.6km. i have tested it many many times and yeah just use reload or auxi mod

I gotta say I still disagree respectfully, the turret angles mean you give enough side for full pens, the secondaries are only useful if a)they're not destroyed b)anything is actually in range; the superstructure is a damage sink, you can comfortably chunk it for 10k a salvo, the guns are meh at best, poor accuracy and range is meh again so at longer ranges it's quite anemic and does armour matter much when fires exist? Not to mention horrendous manoeuvrability.

100% agree. The secondaries are honestly not worth it at all. The moment you’re in range (12.5km), with slightly poor positioning or exposure to focused fire, its already a death sentence.

Firing angles and superstructure are still GKs limiting factors. Her bow is stanky thick, not having overmatch sucks, but I find her 406s pretty satisfactory tbh. Her biggest flaw is detection on the full secondary build, it forces you to hard push, and if you get stalled or delayed you're fucked lol. Conq and Thunderer still just absolutely shit fires on GK from like 3km outside of her mb firing range.

The GK has really rough rear turret angles. Like, the Y turret has different angles than the X turret.

Once you've gotten enough T10 tech tree ships you will unlock new armory section where you can spend special currency which you can get after resetting all your progress of the branch to 0 end regrinding all the way back to T10. New armory section will contain some unique ships as well as unique modifications for some of T10

So some quick calculations on the switch targets vs letting them die. Lets assume you have the full accuracy bonus of 10+50%, 25% dispersion takes 10 seconds and the next 25% dispersion takes 35 seconds. So during that last little bit of accuracy you get about 0.7% dispersion per second. So now our options switch or don't switch. If you switch you are MEANT to lose 0.2 of the 50% so you should have a total of 10+40% dispersion and be back up to the full 10+50% within only 14 seconds. 14 seconds is short enough I'd be willing to switch if someone was at a bad angle and already going to die. There is some dispute though and the footnotes of the wiki show that the reduction is actually additive not multiplicative and the numbers here might be off. The wargaming FAQ has changed and now reads -.25 of the active effect so that would take 17.5 seconds to get back to full.

If they would fucking reduce the range of HE spamming cruisers, brawling would be even more fun. When you consider the range that these ships all ACTUALLY HAD IRL, there would be no 22km sniping from the back corner of the map, your shells would barely make it halfway to the target. With a few exceptions with some ships, yamato NOT being one of them. Average distance was 12k or closer. I dont think the BBs need touched tbh right now, I think the cruisers (and this comes from a cruiser main, with bb's a close second) need to be adjusted. You should not be able to farm fires from behind an island a bb of the same damn nation cant shoot over, from 16-18km away. That, or add the ability to have more than one repair party use before it goes into cooldown for BBs. I agree with the comments here mostly, the fire farming from crusiers gets so fucking old especially when the other BB's on their team just hug the map border and snipe for the entire 20m match. This past year has been the most boring in WoWs by a long shot.

Yeah but on pc gk have more consistant on secondaries and have a really good hydro duration more charge and cancealment mod and dd on pc not have 4.2km dectection. On legends kurfust have just a not bad sigma,a nerf hydro one minutes duration just two charges no manual secondaries,no dissimulation mod and he spam are really really violent and torps hits really hard ..
