Also known as Black Panther, Kurohyou is a spin-off released for the PSP only in Japan, regrettably, but anyone can still enjoy it through obvious means. The game has a fan-fucking-tastic soundtrack, I particularly love the soundtrack in the first fight, and the game is filled with amazing pieces. This game has you pick up different fighting styles and you'll be able to use and change any of them granted it is not in the middle of the fight, and man the fighting style amount is not small at all, there's at least ten fighting styles! (Blackwind confirmed to me that there are TWENTY THREE fighting styles!) There are other details that aren't available in other Yakuza games, such as limb damage, which you'd have to heal using specific medicine items in this game! It's almost hard to believe that this was a PSP game! It was also made by the developers of Def Jam. There will be a bit of stuttering here and there but the overall quality should be great enough for viewing, I hope you enjoy this, and what's to come! Let me know what you think in the comments!

Actually, Dev, you can unlock exactly 20 styles. And when you get to the 2nd game with a save file from the 1st, you unlock two fighting styles of the last 2 bosses of the first game right off the bat. And you have a style unlocked through password so that's 23 styles for Kurohyou 2

One more thing, in the second game(Kurohyou 2 Ashura Hen), you'll be seeing a familiar impostor. Yes, the FAKE KIRYUU IS AT IT AGAIN. It's a sub story, but it's still fun as hell. You'll also see a certain familiar guy from Sky Finance in the ramen shop when you play the ramen minigame.

I forgot to mention just one tiny fun bit. I didn't play 1 so I don't know if the style exists there, but in Kurohyou 2, there's a "self-taught style" where you can basically slap together MOVES FROM OTHER STYLES INTO YOUR OWN UNIQUE STYLE. Yes, if you do this after getting all the ultimate mastery styles(like mastery of fists, mastery of kicks, mastery of grabs etc), you can create a super fun style to use. The best part is that self-taught style has a large number of equip slots, this will allow you to equip certain abilities which will boost your fighting even more. Like "easy does it special move" ability where you'll be able to execute the secret moves(usually they require a fighting game command input to perform) by just holding down the button and charge. These "moves" are obtained via different ways, some of them via passwords as DLCs, others via in-game sub stories. These moves can quickly deplete any enemy's health or simply destroy their guard a la Kiryuu's Tiger Drop.

He looks SO MUCH and fights SO MUCH like Genji from the Crows Zero movies. The actor even played the "main major villain" of Yakuza 6. My personal headcannon is that after his student years,Genji became a famous Yakuza who followed in the footsteps of his father and thanks to that we have Takumi Someya.

I like the smaller scale of the street fights: like in the video the most guys you're fighting at once is three, but I'm not sure how high the number would go, and most of the time it's 1 v 1 fights, which gives you a real chance to have some superb fights and really give the fighting styles a test. And 23 fighting styles...the most fighting styles you can have in the recent main Yakuza games is four, so this game certainly gives you a hell of a big pot to pull your moves from. And yes, the soundtrack is great too.

I don't know about the story honestly, I've skipped most of it because I probably wouldn't understand much anyway. But I can tell you that I really love the undertone and atmosphere of this game, the game feels much more "youthful" and "violent" yet at the same time more alive and wild than 0, if that makes sense. You get to see a side of Kamurocho that I feel like you don't see much in other games. It could be because the protagonist here is completely different from how other protagonists are so you get to see the town from his viewpoint for a change, or it could be something in the art style and the characters of the story. The soundtrack really nails how they want you to feel about the game too! But bottom line is I fucking love the game.

This is much different than the main installments and the OST is awesome in both games all bosses have their own themes (Wish main installments had that :( ) it was made by the same person who did Jet Set Radio OST and the combat is like Yakuza 0 and Kiwami but with more styles but you can't switch between them. Hopefully both games will be remade but i doubt that :p

For some reason the dev team cut off the first voice actor for Tatsuya in favour of the second who was also a J-Drama actor. I think it could be that they were banking on the J-Drama series actually made for the Kurohyou games becoming popular, but I don't know if it did. Apparently there's a brief cameo of Kiryu in one of the Kurohyou J-Drama's episodes walking the streets of Kamurocho, albeit only from behind.

I've been planning to get into it while I was playing 3/4, it wasn't hard to find a copy but you can say that Blackwind was the one who help set me up with guides and know-hows.

Is this one of the "Bad" Yakuza games (1, Dead Souls, 5) "better" Yakuza games (Yakuza 4, Ishin, Song Of Life) or one of the best (0, 2, 3)?

Why can't yakooza games bring back the combat that's more like this .. Could you imagine a new version of this one ps5 and or pc? With new refresh and in depth take on this more realistic fighting style.. Man I'm very wishful thinking.. Dreaming rather.. How can anybody even enjoy the new boring turn based fighting style that they have ruined the yakuza games with.. Judgment series are the only other good thing from the games..

To be fair it depends on whether or not you're upgraded in both this game and the other games. In this game, i'm far from fully upgraded so far.

Risk to rise Capcom’s Beatdown fists of Vengeance received some crappy reviews even compared to Urban Reign which was an underdog gem in my eyes.

Why the hell aren't these people making shenmue 3 or a hd remake of shenmue 1 and 2.
@cnhnx
@cnhnx 6 жыл бұрын
Because Yakuza series is far more profitable for Sega. Shenmue is too ambitious for its own good and costing Sega a lot back then.

It looks like an extremely edgy-try-hard mid-2000's game (played a couple of games just in the same vein of this back in the day with some friends from school. They were so incredibly bad, but it was hilarious to just pick them up every now and then just to laugh at how hard they were trying to be cool.) Music also seems to suggest this as well. Not really a surprise I've only heard vague things about this one and it's sequel, as it's definitely no real Ryu Ga Gotoku game, and it's a niche of a niche market type of game, but still interesting to see another game as such and laugh at it with these videos. Will be waiting for more videos on it for sure, simply for the comedy factor! (Also...noticed them thug groans and cries from Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 and 4...sneaky sneaky, clever clever...eehhhhh yeah, didn't slip me by. :P)

+devilleon7 Lol, was really just being cheeky with that side comment!! All of the games except maybe 6 reuse *many* various assets from each other, and i'm perfectly fine with that. Wouldn't make sense otherwise even if money wasn't an object to the company, at least in my opinion, as the one's they reuse all or almost all make perfect sense. :)
@Xilivian
@Xilivian 6 жыл бұрын
+blackwind677 But really the only thing making that game look edgy was it's English dub. It was a pretty serious game in the original Japanese version, excluding a odd substory here and there.
