thank you kurt. I have no emotional stake in collegiate wrestling or the olympics i just think its amazing how honest you are. It takes alot to admit “hey look we knew something was wrong and we didnt want the money train to stop” to own that and admit it in this day and age is admirable.

even these US Wrestling organizations, who are literally broke, didn't want to lose the money train. Individuals is one thing, but governmental bodies? yeah.. a lot of people were on that train, evidently even his local Police Department was on that money train, we ended up finding out later..

I met John DuPont, back in 1965 before I knew he was into wrestling, I was into competitive swimming ( I'm 75 now). The swimming star of the 1964 Olympics was Don Schollander and John DuPont was a major sponsor of the US Swimming Hall of Fame, and various swimming clinics. He was 27 years old and was traveling on a PR trip as Schollander's Hall of Fame representative. My first impression of him was that he was an arrogant preppy, complete with bowtie. He was a total control freak, always playing to be the center of attention. When I learned of the Foxcatcher killings, and that he was the killer I was not surprised.

Got to meet Jake Herbert in Pittsburgh, before he went to train Channing Tatum how to wrestle for the film. Was interesting to hear a former Olympian discuss the impact of Dave’s murder 15+ years later. Then oddly enough, met Steve Carell, and was able to discuss playing DuPont briefly and how this was really different for him. This story is so sad, Dave had so much to give to the sport of Wrestling.

I used to live a different life, all i can say is that i saw a lot of coke heads who used to snort all night and then look out the window, freaking out about cops or ppl out to get them.. Coke and Crack would do that.
@roccodonatelli21 күн бұрын
I completely agree… When I did a lot of coke I’d be looking out the window every other minute totally paranoid that cops were coming and after the night would end and I’d finally fall asleep I’d wake up and realize how irrational I was the previous night but I’d say mixing cocaine with mental illness is what drove DuPont over the edge…. The coke definitely fueled the fire 🔥
