This is a fascinating video for a variety of reasons. This Cobain family gathering happened on September 8 1991. The SLTS video would be released two days later on Sept 10, and Nevermind would be released a few weeks later. In some ways it's like viewing Kurt before everything changed, Courtney came into his life, and life became so much more difficult and complicated for him. There's a real innocence and sweetness on display here.

The video was shot at Mill Creek Pond in Cosmopolis WA (not Cosimopolis). Watching this now Kurt may have been also reliving some memories of the "shed". This pond, and the shed seen in the video was a party spot for many of us (including Kurt) growing up in the towns of Aberdeen, Hoquiam, and Cosmopolis in the early and mid 80's. Lots of good times there. Thanks guesty for posting it - its bringing back some good memories.

I was a teenager in the 90's and I had the pleasure of meeting Kurt in person on his tour in support of ''Nervermind'' in 1991, he was a very handsome and intelligent young man and was always cracking jokes and kidding with all. You would even consider him as a close relative. But deep down you see a void that could not be filled with anything existing in this world. I felt terrible when I received the news of his death, I was at my parents' house in Maryland, I still remember crying for days and thinking about what could have happened or what could have caused all of this, his death sure shook everyone. After all, he was always my idol. The world has lost a great man, rest in peace Kurt we will love you forever.

It's very moving to see the image of Kurt. I was only a kid in the 90's, so I envy those who were teenagers or in their 20's during the time Kurt was alive. Though I can't know for sure how painful it must've been for them to lose him. Rest in peace, Kurt. Thanks for the wonderful music and the inspiration.

Kurt loved children. He didn`t love the spot light. When he found fame it was too overbearing, there was no more personal life. He, like others in the past couldn`t handle the spot light. He tried several ways to get the spot light off him all to no avail. Seeing him at peace beside a stream with children playing without mass attention was what he loved. I`m thankful to see that he got to experience it. Kurt Cobain: Mentor, Legend, Master.

This clip is really beatiful. There's just something something in the accidental camera work, it seems to turn to kurt and the kids at exactly the right time in the song. It's like kurt is watching over the kids, or wishing he was there age again. The little dude in front of Kurt looks like kurt as a bot. Gave me goosebumps.

Kurt was once a member of a classic rock group, now he has become an icon a kind of "anthem," for a generation, one tinged with the sadness of thoughts of an absent friend. To me, above all he was a man with a heart and soul, hopes, fears and dreams and unfortunately just didn't find peace of mind. Leaving the music aside, this vid makes me feel so sad about a fellow soul, who didn't make it through the long haul. Incredibly moving... Will[Liverpool]

Grohl: "I watched this thing on KZbin of Kurt's home movies. He's hanging around with his family in a park, sitting by this stream as these little girls run around. "And it broke my heart, because I knew when that was, and I knew that he wasn't necessarily happy at the time. "He couldn't fully experience the joy of life."
