"The whole time the guy is in your guard, he should be harassed" Honestly, one of the most helpful tips I've ever gotten regarding the use of the guard. Definitely a key aspect. Far too often have I stalled while in guard, thinking I had control, therefore allowing the opponent to reclaim the control.

Ya you can essentially do the same thing no-gi....switch the right hand grip to the ankle and the left hand grip to the wrist or tricep. With this variation you have to make the whole thing a lot faster or he will know you are up to something and break one or both of those grips.

@avanthalfgarde It is legal, but you CANNOT grab the pant leg with your fingers inside the pant leg. You can use a pistol grip or a pocket grip or you could grab the ankle outright. This is more to protect yourself from breaking your own fingers than anything you are going to do to your opponent.

If you insert your fingers into the inside of a sleeve, or pant leg, I believe it's illegal. You can bunch up the material around a sleeve, or curl the sleeve outward around your fingers...... but you can't insert your fingers inside the open part or a sleeve/pant cuff.
