can’t tell you how glad I am to see these back. The best part (besides seeing Kurt back on the mat) is the type of content. It’s not flash bullshit you’ll never pull off in a roll. It’s simple and effective Jiu-jitsu.

Kurt is the most "metal" jiu jitsu black belt in the world. It's awesome to see him back, doing what he loves.

I trained with Kurt Osiander from 2011-2014. During that time I was subjected to the most majestic non-homosexual, but perhaps homosocial, relationship I have ever had with another man. I am Brian Wolicz, I was a white/blue belt at the academy there during those years. In the years that I trained with Kurt, I learned an incredible amount about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and about how to be a man. Kurt is an excellent teacher, and is able to communicate complex concepts in a way that is easy to understand. He is also a great role model, and is someone who I looked up to during my time training with him. I will always be grateful to Kurt for the time I spent training with him, and for everything I learned from him. A lot of times when he would demonstrate the moves on me, I would have confusing feelings. I never told the people there I was gay as it was a kind of macho environment, but I still remember the way Kurt's hair smelled. One time, after a particularly long training session, Kurt and I were both exhausted and sweaty. We were lying on the mats next to each other, and Kurt put his arm around me and pulled me close. I could feel his body heat, and his heart beating. I was in heaven. Once I came in and I guess Kurt had fallen asleep there after an early morning class and I had a key during some of that time and would come train before the 11 o'clock class. Kurt wasn't wearing much, and I was titillated at how risky it was to assault a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, and on the mats no less. That was the most homoerotic thing that ever happened to me, and it was with Kurt Osiander. I got on top of him and pinned him down, I kept chloroform in a specific spot on my gi in those days because some of the white belts were really messing with me since I just got promoted to blue belt. Sometimes I could finagle it just right into their faces and they wouldn't pass out really but they'd get suddenly tired. I did that for a long time until one guy got really sick. Anyway, I tried to make sure Kurt didn't smell me because I actually at the time used a proprietary bath blend and the herbs in that blend were quite fragrant, so I tried to get the chloroform on his mouth and nose right away because I sure didn't want him to attack me. I don't think he ever knew. I don't think anyone ever knew. I was just a blue belt who got a little too close to his black belt instructor.

@@jamesmccusker2260 Do I detect homophobia, James Mccusker? I don't know. Do you? What is going on with you? I wanted to simply share my experiences in the art we share, what issue could you possibly have with my writing? Don't be a judgmental jerk.

I am probably limiting my jiu jitsu game, but for whatever reason I never think about grabbing the gi as part of a technique. I did love the second attack you showed Kurt, using the head/face to push the arm in position for an arm attack.
@barrett5229 Жыл бұрын
I was the same way but man if you’re gonna train in a gi you’re leaving a lot on the table not using it. Most anything you can do with a gi you can do with a jacket or heavy shirt. So it’s worth learning
