I can’t believe it: a public appearance without a hat.

The levels of genius this guy brings music at are astonishing… he has been like a Keith Jarrett on guitar in jazz for years, and now as he ages he has morphed into his own totally unique Alan Holdsworth like expression…. Just jaw dropping… I’m so blessed to have sat in front of him and taken in his playing at shows during my guitar and musical development.

Hmm...as a big fan of both I completely disagree with the assessment that Kurt is like Keith. They're language and approach are just completely different. Keith is funky with a strong foundation in blues, plays with lot of humor and approaches ballads like a torch singer - Kurt possesses none of these qualities lol. He is a wonderful player, no doubt, but is as far from Jarrett's melodic earthiness as a guitarist can get. Julian Lage would be a better comparison

@@timcardona9962 I would agree in tens of comparing their styles literally… I guess it is only in one respect really: When he plays standards, I feel like he stretches in terms of improvising and ideas, and plays things on a level , That reach a level of inventiveness and development and complexity in certain ways, that to me or like when Keith Jarrett plays standards… Basically that’s what I mean…I was trying to compare a certain quality of genius When it comes to improvisation in terms of something like the context of a standard jazz solo… That’s pretty intangible I know… I feel like I haven’t heard anyone get to places when it comes to what I’m talking about aside from Keith, and then Kurt
