The main concern I have for Brock Purdy is his downfield throws look forced and inaccurate these last couple weeks. Maybe thats because his left tackle only blocks occasionally and Pearsall doesn't know where to run, maybe. If thats the problem, then Purdy will have a rebound once the talent around him improves, because those last two years... Purdy absolutely understood the offense, threw those passes before the receivers even broke open and hit them in stride. Purdy could do that again. Sam Darnold has never displayed he could do that better than Purdy. If Darnold could, Shanahan would have kept him ready. On the other hand, is Purdy's arm failing somewhat? I suspect it's just that the combination of McCaffrey, Aiyuk, Kittle and Deebo was stretching defense to breaking point. And now that's gone for now. Purdy still executed that offense a tremendously high level, even though it was loaded offense

They do not have much speed or anybody to beat man coverage. They are vastly overrated and it seems to be done many times to disparage brock purdy, as if most NFL QB's who win in the playoffs don't have good teams around them or something. Purdy has more playoff wins than Dak, Love, Burrow, Hurts, and Jackson, and the same as Allen. All these guys have been in the league way longer than Purdy too, approaching a decade in many cases and they have 2 wins. You guys would would be crying so hard about Purdy if that were the case. Imagine Purdy with Higgins and Jamar Chase. Imagine Purdy with Devonte Smith, Aj Brown and Barkley. Hurts struggles to throw for 84 yards with these guys, Purdy would be the MVP if he were on the eagles.

A quarterback can throw the most perfect pass, but it's not a completed pass if the receiver can't hang on to the ball. Can Brock do his part? Can he get the ball in the hands of the receivers consistently and accurately? If so, keep him! Get better weapons that can catch.

They still have the best O line in the league and a ton of weapons. The only lineman they inherited from the previous regime was Ragnow. They drafted Sewell and the rest of their line are free agent pick ups. Montgomery was a free agent pickup too. They drafted well, but not perfectly. They spent the #12 overall pick on Jameson Williams, who hasn't lived up to that billing. They got St. Brown in the 4th round. So, I don't see why the 49ers can't do something similar. People like you pretend like once they pay Brock, it'll be impossible to field a team capable of winning a Super Bowl, but the Lions are proof that it can be done. Also, the Jimmy comparison is so old and tired and debunked. Brock was better at a 23 year old rookie than Jimmy was as a 30 year old vet who had been groomed for three years by the GOAT.

His numbers since the Baltimore game haven’t changed as dramatically as most would indicate. His TDs AND INTs have gone down, but his YPG had gone up slightly despite way less YAC. There are several reasons why it isn't brilliant. First off, Darnold isn't going to come back here to compete for a starting role if a team like the Saints or Giants will sign him to a long term deal, which I'd say is a good possibility after this year. Second, if the Niners did pay him a bunch of money for a 1 year deal to come and compete for Brock's job, it would cause discontent in the locker room and Brock would probably hold out and/or demand a trade. He won't want to play for the Niners if they do him like that. If the idea is to force Brock into another year of playing for peanuts, they should just trade Brock and sign Darnold to a multi-year contract.

The main issue with Brock that really only the Grant and Coach have talked about is his diminishing arm strength! Brock’s arm was not very good to begin but it was satisfactory. However now his deep balls and intermediate throws are now sailing and lofting up in the air. Is this because of Brock’s shoulder? Is it the elbow? Is this only temporary? Is this permanent? I’m sorry but with the question being “is is arm healthy” 49ers should not sign him, especially if he is this injury prone. I know the Oline is an issue and needs to be fixed. The thing is though his new shoulder injury was because of him scrambling. I know he likes to scramble but if he’s going to get injured every time he scrambles, 49ers should reconsider signing him to a big deal. We all saw they made with resigning CMC when he has bilateral Achilles tendinitis

I think part of it is Brock pressing and going for the big play more often, but I also think a lot of this is on Kyle. Kyle is the one who designs the plays, and this year, Brock has been in shotgun way more often that before. There are also other indicators that Kyle has changed the scheme to a more deep pass oriented offense. For example: This year, Purdy is 22nd in the league in play action pass attempts and 18th in passing attempts. Last year, he was 11th in the league in play action pass attempts 20th in pass attempts. The response to that might be "well, their run game isn't as good this year" but that isn't really true, especially earlier in the year. They are currently 6th in rush yards per attempt. Last year, they were 4th in rush yards per attempt. The threat of the rush is definitely still there, so the decline in pass action doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Play action has been one of Brock's best strengths. It lends to his excellent timing and quick processing. Kyle is deliberately calling plays where the primary target is further down the field, but he's not doing that out of play action as he so often did before.

Brock is probably still recovering from his surgery. That was unpleasant when he put his right arm down to score that touchdown and the lineman pushed him sideways as he did it. That reinjured his arm. He was trying to make something happen cause the rest of the weapons on the team were not producing. @@mitchellness9920 Mahomes 224 pass yds per game 13th 23 TDs & 11 ints Purdy 232 pass yds per game 10th 19TDs & 8 ints Purdy played 1 less game in a running offense has 120 less pass attempts. Why isn’t Mahomes ahead significantly in TDs?

Brock has played well. The offense receivers got hurt , didn’t play well. The o line sucks without Trent. Maybe getting away from Kyle is the answer. Personally I think Kyle is responsible. Won’t let him be him. Can’t even audible

I don’t think it’s fair to say Sam Darnold is elite, he has weapons in Justin Jefferson, Aaron Jones and Addison. Meanwhile Brock has no real deep threat that Shanahan is willing to trust to spread the field, Deebo is washed, and CMC has been ground to dust. I think Darnold would struggle too
