@@mikez6683 Also similar in the way they play QB (throwing with anticipation to spots) which is actually scary because Kurt wasn't as good from 2002-2007 when he didn't have talent around him. His team's went 13-29 while he put up 54 td's & 47 int's. When he had 9er level talent, he was incredible. His team's went 54-20 while he put up 154 td's to 81 int's and had 4 pro bowls plus 2 MVP's. Brock does have way more mobility though and as long as they keep drafting well, they should be fine. You just can't draft Mecole, Skyy, Noah, CEH, Darwin, Tremon, Cornell, and pick up 9er castoffs like Richie James & the Belldozer and expect to have Purdy succeed.

It's interesting how the top defense in the league(allowed the least points, had the most takeaways and top 3 in scoring defense) with the top kicker in the league are hardly mentioned and Lamar Jackson get all the credit for average passing numbers(24TDs where 5 of those came against no defense Miami) yet Purdy gets no credit for his great numbers because the credit goes to the rest of the team. If his team wins, it's because of the great players around him. If his team loses, Purdy is just not that guy. Lamar has an awful playoff game and loses the game, he still is an elite player. Purdy struggles in the rain or has a mediocre first half yet brings his team back to victory, he got lucky.

@ronbintscatco9 ай бұрын
isn't it obvious? One team has 5 all-pro's on offense. The other team has 1 pro bowler (the C), let alone all-pro. +One team has Kyle scheming up the most yards of separation in the NFL. Like Kurt says, Brock has great weapons, a great OC, a top 3 to 8 defense, AND he played great on top of that. Unlike Jimmy who was mid. Honestly, he'd get less hate if ppl like David Lombardi weren't saying he's Joe Montana or you trying to say he's better than Lamar. Because we've also seen guys play great when they had a cast around them and not so great when the cast was bad (Kaep, Wertz, Jimmy G, Jalen Hurts, Cassell, Baker, etc). Even Kurt who is a HoF wasn't as good once the Rams lost everybody (finished 0-7 in St Louis), the Giants, and his 1st 3 seasons in Arizona (8-16).
@ph019789 ай бұрын
@@ronbintscatco I never said that he is better than Lamar but to say that Lamar was not helped greatly by his defense and all those takeaways as well as Justin Tucker and his trusted leg would be dishonest. Lamar did not have the same offensive players but he did not put up the same offensive numbers either. It still goes back to my original point, why isn't the defense and the kicker getting more credit? Lamar may not have the weapons but he did have frequent excellent field position because of his defense. Finally, your last point can be applied to Lamar as well. Put Lamar on another team and are we sure that he would do well? This seems like a Lamar/Purdy comparison but it is not. I'm comparing how credit are allocated and how excuses are applied.

@@ph01978if everyone would agree that Purdy is in that 2nd tier with guys like Presscott, Goff etc we'd all be cool. But ppl are trying to put him in a Mahomes, Burrows level. His numbers this year kind of suggest he could be But that's where the great casts comes in. The knock against Purdy is that this roster makes the playoffs with or without him. You can't honestly say that about the Ravens, Chiefs, or Bills.
@ph019789 ай бұрын
@@MickeyEntertains Well right now it's Mahomes and everyone else. With the exception of maybe Burrow(who is still under Mahomes), I'll put Purdy(on potential because he only played 1.5 seasons) among the QBs just under. The Ravens is a complicated case. They built their team around Lamar so it will be hard just to swap QBs but, with that defense, quite a few can make the playoffs. A great defense can mask offensive inefficiencies. If you flip it, can you put Lamar on any Team and they make the playoffs? Same for Josh Allen. I don't think Allen would have made the playoffs with Chargers instead of Herbert. That is the thing, Tier 2 is consider good and not average. On the other side of the argument, people considers Purdy as average or below average with a good team. An average QB will cost your team. That's why Kyle Shanahan did not trust Jimmy G throwing the ball in the SB. Too many times Jimmy would have a turn over at the worst moment. That is not the case with Purdy. They both made the SB but the execution is totally different. Can we agree that Purdy is a good QB with a great potential to become even better?

I love how every ESPN “pundit” is calling Mahomes already the GOAT, at the very least 2nd best EVER, while saying if Purdy (the LAST pick in the draft, in his barely second year) loses to him, he has a failed year and should be scrutinized. So what if the GOAT Mahomes loses to him? Then it wasn’t Purdy but instead all his weapons. But his weapons get no blame if they lose. 🤡

If Purdy wins... think about it. It changes the whole NFL paradigm! Mahomes was on track to beat Brady's record someday, but now this newcomer threatens that which we thought we'd be watching unfold before us. Overnight it disrupts the whole narrative. Now, Mahomes' quest is challenged by Purdy. We might've seen the derailment of Mahomes, with his last SB victory being in 2022, and now Purdy might be the one to beat Brady. I know this is WAY premature. But hey, don't you think this will be in the discussion if the 49ers win?
