I was in the chorus in a staged version at Tanglewood in 2008, Levine was to conduct, but was ill and we had a replacement. I'll never forget the experience. Wonderful music.

Saw it in Stuttgart Opera in the nineties. It was my initiational experience into opera. I loved the music of Kurt Weill before, but didn´t know about this masterpiece. Incredible tunes

I know that Brecht wanted the text to be translated into the language of the country in which his work were performed, but I miss the sound of German. Only two songs in the opera are originally written in English.

This was streamed from the Metopera app in December 2020 and most recently in July 2021. This looks like an inferior fuzzy copy. Buy the DVD instead.
