I was there eating the hongitos in 1973 . Back then "derumbas" were 20 pesos for una "familia" - which was expensive ( cause I was a gringo ) - almost $2. It was only a dirt road through the town. That big tree you passed @ 2:18 on the way into town was the center of town back then. People just ate the mushrooms and walked around with purple tongues. Kurt, I am old school... Back in the late 70's while visiting a friend in Big Sur, California, we were with our ladies... My friend, who was the Chief of the Big Sur Fire Dept then, says, "Hey, let's do these mushrooms I have... There very mild..." Famous last words, We eat all of them and go hiking up the hills beyond Ventana in Big Sur. A few hours later, with no clothes on, we find our way back to the cabin, where our girlfriends have been drinking wine and smoking weed.. They had no idea what we had done. So, "Where are your clothes?" They yell. I was so high I didn't realize I had no clothes on... It has been a decade or more since I had mushrooms. But soon I will find some. One thing I always liked about them was the laughing. You know you had a good time when your cheeks are sore from laughing for 5 hours straight...

First time I took an eighth to myself. I had the same view of the fog settling in over the hillside somewhere in Palos Verdes, CA...sat there on a big rock by the beach and watched the sun rise over the mountain, the shellfish and crabs wake up for their early morning exercises, and the birds look for breakfast. The notebook I had full of scribbles and ideas that came to me from somewhere I can’t fully understand but know without a doubt that it’s real. As amazing as this trip was, I haven’t really found the want or need to experience it again. That eighth was just enough for me.

I sat on a lake watching the sun come up, all through the night, on acid. Didn't sleep a wink, and even downed a magnum bottle of wine (two bottles equivalent) over the course of 6-7 hours. It was one of the most beautiful things I can remember. Just totally at peace with the word around, everything perfect, as it should be. The feeling that the place I'm in is HOME. I definitely advocate trying again later in your life, Eddie, and maybe with a smaller dose but a similar setting. It's good to plant those flowers of noticing when the world is beautiful and life is a thing worth living. Keeps you positive, sane and grounded, IMO.

Kurt, the reason they put these mushrooms in honey - there is an enzyme in honey that removes water; without enough water, the bacteria that will breakdown whatever you want to preserve can not exist. This is why honey has a limitless shelf life. Cheers mate.

dude i did mushrooms for my first time like 6 months ago and me and my friends did it at my friends house and i just took a big handful off the bag and ate them without anything while they put them in burgers. broooo i was fuckkked so fast, we went on a walk and i was like panicky but i could see lights in 3 different colors like your looking at a 3d video without the glasses. when we got back i just had to lay on the bed and focus on something. i gagged like 5 minutes later so i got up and went to bathroom. thats when i started to see everything move and flow and i remember telling myself “holy fuck” because i was still on a badish trip. so like 15 minutes later i went back to the room and just layed on my back and shut my eyes. there were like 5 people surrounding me and music going on and i just focused on the music and the more time that passed the deeper i got. and holy shit at my peak was i couldnt tell when i eyes were closed or opened and the english on the tv was a unexplained symbols but i just took it like a man and stayed in the black hole for what seemed like hours.
