@@historynetwork852 Less than 50% of Brazil's population is white. So therefore, exploring and showing Brazilian culture and people that are not white, you consider that to be "fake brazil"? Nothing you wrote is entirely racist, but it's not exactly radiating tolerance and an open mind. There are white people in Brazil because of emigration from Portugal and other European countries. Just like there are 5 million white people in Africa because of former colonies. I pass no judgment on people who have emigrated in past generations or even colonized (with the brutality that usually involves), because it was not their doing, only their heritage. But I pass judgment on people who are negative towards other people in their own country or elsewhere because of the color of their skin.

Pablo was a great guide. He might have been the person in charge of the area, or close to it. I have a hard time imagining that the local groups would be cool with him leading around an outsider, if Pablo didn't have some considerable connection to them. Maybe he's just a relative, of someone high-up. Kurt, was dapping everyone up, showing nothing but respect to everyone he met. He also put his head down, everytime he was asked to. You have to give respect to get respect. I get the feeling that this video was made due to that kind of mutual respect being established before hand. This didn't come across as a propaganda piece at all. More of a really honest "check out my neighborhood" this is where I'm from, and what it's like video. Really appreciate Pablo, and you sharing it with everyone. Much love to you, and all the people out in Zona Norte, doing the best they can with what they got.

Lol no bro, locals all know eachother and treat each other like family that’s all there is to it, it’s something that you really wouldn’t understand unless you went to a place like brazil or mexico
@Consider002 жыл бұрын
@@DiegoHernandez-id6pe I don't know about Brazil, the other places I do know about though... Wouldn't let a stranger walk around a hot area like that video taping stuff that could potentially get them killed by the police or rival gangs, off the word of an unafiliated hoodie. Not everyone likes everyone, even if you live in a small town, or tight knit community. I highly doubt that just anyone who lives there could act as a guide like Pablo did without running into some trouble. Don't buy it. I'm not saying he has to be directly involved in anything either. He has to be well known, and well liked by every single group patroling there though. Otherwise they would both get blasted. Pablo is straight up telling people it's cool that this stranger is video taping, both during and right after a gun fight. Dude has some cred. Not anyone in the favela can do that.

@1vinipepega2 жыл бұрын
It's just not how it works man, Pablo had no connections or nothing crazy, he was just respectful and not dumb. As he said, it's a community, and respect and boundaries go a long way. If you are born there or known by the community you are treated with respect, most of the times. But it's still a sort of a complicated situation, because the gang members (bandidos) are still cruel and unfair sometimes, but they still help the community a lot, sometimes too, people get caught in the middle of things and get treated as hostages, just like they did (especially in occasions where there is a fight or invasion going on). An example of that, is when a person who is not from that "favela" or area drives in a danger zone by accident or not knowing the correct entrance protocol (especially when there is a fight or invasion going on). They're probably going to get shot at. Favelas are the biggest communities in Brasil (they're small cities), things run a lot different here from other places around the world.
