From I remember with the 1st the focus was on racing with no combat, it goes faster than wipeout and you can fall off the track quite easily if you don't learn the games controls, though the tracks are much wider to compensate for the higher speed.

Having played the first Redout. I'm happy there's more Anti-Gravity/Ludicrous speed racing, but coming from F-Zero X, Redout didn't have enough happening on the track to keep me excited. If there where at least 9 other vehicles on track, or even better 14 I'd love it.

Actually, in Redout you can have 9 opponents in custom events.

I think the whole point of Redout is the speed mechanic. It's already pushing it at 12 racers tbh lol. The track width is still pretty small, bigger than Redout 1's but still. You're supposed to focus on the race with skill, which is why Redout has a decently big learning curve. Adding anything extra like Wipeout style weapons would make the game pretty inaccessible to a ton of people

the overheat system is a really smart move coming from the previous game it used to be a recharging resource but that allowed you to spam it at near 0% for a decent boost even if its not intended. It would hold you back from the best times but definitely formed bad habits Also the steering looks like they now have steering have proper authority instead of strafing. In RO1 you practically handled turns more with strafe than the actual turn key

this game looks really cool, and quite hard! but still, i'm interested to see how this game will be accepted by the players! and the speed these antigrav pods can make reminds me of grip: combat racing a little. have you hear of it/played it? (it's like a mix of wipeout/redout/f-zero and mario kart, or you can describe it as blur in a shell of redout/wipeout)

I loved Grip, especially after the Airblades were added, but sadly, WIRED PRODUCTIONS never bothered to update consoles with the final DLC track, Jekna 881. They just didn't bother to do it, which really sucks, and now they have moved on to other projects. .Jerks.

I absolutely LOVE that this has a Motorstorm style boost mechanic. That type of system really increases the skill curve, and adds a whole new element to learning how to drive each track, while also being easy to understand, and making the times where you can’t boost feel totally fair. In something like Burnout, you might run out of boost because there’s no cars to takedown, or no corners to drift, or you’re stuck on a one way street, which can feel unfair at times. In Motorstorm, the only time you can’t use boost is because you didn’t manage it well, and it’s entirely your fault like “My brother in Christ, YOU let the car overheat.” Lmao Not to undermine Burnout though. It being one of, if not THE best arcade racers of all time, imo. You just see that typical “drive a certain way to get more boost” formula used in a lot of games these days. The only other games I can think of with Motorstorm style boost management are super obscure ones like Fireburst, so it’s refreshing to see it return in a non-Motorstorm game on a next gen console. Super cool stuff!

Through terraforming. In the original Redout there is some lore about that. You can find it in the artbook, but it's not very extensive. A timeline about the history and some short paragraphs about the locations. They didn't explain anything about the details.

I have one serious problem with this game - it comes out the same day as Sniper Elite 5 😜. One point - it’s not you can drive vertically, you must drive in 3 dimensions to achieve the best times! Redout is awesome (gameplay, vehicles, tracks, music, and progression) and 2 looks even better!

Seems like the penalty of hitting the wall is close to none, and with the tracks being so narrow, you might as well just fullspeed everything and hit the walls instead of breaking. idk, not for me, but im sure many will enjoy it

As someone who's put a fair amount of time in the first Redout, this seems like pretty much the same handling and mechanics as before, minus the heat management. One or two minor hits on the wall may not affect your speed much if your opponent does the same, but literally crashing into it or scraping it will slow you down to like 40-50% of your cruise speed, plus some loss of ship health. It was always rather faster to crash into some corners than to just scrape the wall. Of course, you'd get the best time with no hits at all. With Redout 2's new heat management mechanics it will be even harder to recover from such crashes. Since both crashing and overheating eat away your health, you just may not have enough health to tank a bit of heat and boost your way back up.

i didnt enjoy the first redout that much - the visuals were so in your face seeing the track was hard which wasn't helped by the endless blind corners and loops which deposit you in a wall. i dont think my mind can comprehend the changing of gravity like that and it just made it frustrating. same with the 'floorhugger' tracks on ballisticng, i like having gravity go down in my ag racers

not gonna lie, I like the fact that you did a different style of video. Don't get me wrong, your other montages are neat, it's just that after some time they get repetitive & just not entertaining enough. I recommend to do more of this kind of videos, talking over aspects of game, showing gameplay too, not necessarily seeing the Twitch overlay and not just Twitch clips mashed together. It adds a lot more effort for sure, but you might see a spike in audience numbers & makes for a more nicer video experience.

I now!! It's the only racing game of it's kind. Such fun once you get the hang of it, or the AI hang you on a checkpoint with a Cable. It has so many cool features like the weapons, locations, hazards, and the vehicles. Hey, what other anti gravity racer lets you explore all of it's tracks? Unfortunately almost no one ever played it. FI is Still one of my favourite games.
